Then I would take the Red pill.
I would care less if they dump the fan and stuff - Lighthouse 2.0 and the controllers⦠they are needed.
I donāt get the damn radiosilence ⦠even riding the broke down hype train with some pics and videos not telling much but at least showing that those things exist would be somethingā¦
@anon74848233, show us some pics of the boxes!
These requests will just result in another ācoming soonā announcement to shut us up ⦠until next month when we ask them again.
Or like the Guy that showed us some Games back then. They could be showing their prototypes in Action ā¦
Oh well
Guys, announcements will be made soon. Until then, there is nothing we can say anyway. Once thing is for sure, there are lots of things coming, so dont worry!
Soon is a abused word. It would be nice if Pimax at least say: expect an announcement in x weeks or soā¦
Yes I also hope is not spoken in galactic terms
More in IT Terms would be cool or in relation to the duration of a one day fly ā¦
I want to be sarcastic here, but quite frankly I donāt want to step on your positive outlook and always friendly and helpful demeaner, so Iāll keep it to myself and say that I always enjoy your youtube content. Keep up the great work
Things have gotten delayed in the past. But eventually they got released. Three Pimax headsets.
Now we have new models and accessories coming, and they are all aimed for 2019, and it looks very bright if you ask me. Something Pimax doesnt want (anymore) is to promise you a specific release date without being 100% sure, and thats why they havent done so yet. But once they can be sure, it will be annouced not long before release.
Before I started to work here, I had no idea how much planning, work, time and effort is put into every single release of a product. Now Im starting to understand, and thats why I have easier to accept it. And yes Im very positive and excited. Its not just " an another headset" release. Once you see something announced here from Pimax, you know its going to be something different from what you have seen before. I think thats why we are all here and not on the Oculus Reddit, right?
Iām also on the oculus redditā¦since I bought the RiftS a few weeks ago, so that I can finally have full motion control support in half my game library that supports it exclusively, since pimax hasnāt released a single thing (beyond the headset itself) in almost 2 years. Different models of the HMD mean nothing to me as a Backer since I bought the 5K+ and all I care about are all of the suported/promises accessories that have been awol for almost 2 years now. Having something unique that ānobody else hasā ie (the widest FOV) has itās heavy price to pay in this case. Perhaps if all of us had the ābehind the scenesā perspective that you now have, we would have a different outlook/perspective but thatās not our reality. Weāre in the dark. And if patience were a drop of water, we would be walking naked throught Death valley in California.
sorry man, I donāt want to put you on the spot. Just expressing my point of view with all due respect.
You mean 9-10 months, right?
Sure of course. High end solutions will always cost more. And creating solutions with new tech on the market that barely has been touched by other companies, will introduce even more complexity, initial issues, deeper research and more work until you have confidence to release that product. Hence the delays.
Pimax could have done it easy from start. Re-make the old 4K headset, add better 4K panels with 80/90Hz, improve some details and sell it as a Reverb clone. But would you really care about that product anyway?
My HP Reverb collects dust. Not only because its faulty in almost every single way, but because it brings me (personally) not much to be excited about. And I somehow feel the same about Index. Sure the finish is nice. A quality product made by a well established company. But in the end, its a no effort. They could have done so much more. But they took the easy path. And they lost my interest day 1.
All of this has been hashed over and argued/defended to death here in the forums for months, so I donāt think anything we say here will change minds at this point as far as timelines and competitorās products/issues/promises go. It certainly wonāt change my way of thinking at this point. Believe it or not I am more calm about the whole thing since getting the RiftS. Still love the 5K, while it sits mostly idle as a half baked VR experience until pimax finally delivers the balance of the hardware.
When pimax delivers decently working VR where all promised components are delivered and in hand, until then itās dificult to get excited anymore about what they promise⦠as well. At least Reverb was a complete package in hand to test out and form an opinion with.
The kickstarter set the clock in my opinion.
Ok, back to workā¦lunch is over here. Thanks for engaging in conversation, your opinion is valued. Have a great day.
Thats the beauty of having a lot of headsets on the market. Enjoy your Rift S/Reverb meanwhile, and once Pimax is done you can chose to upgrade or not. There is so much more to do meanwhile instead of waiting and asking the same question over and over like some people do every week. Im not pointing at you, Im just generalizing now. Lets just Pimax finish what they need to finish and we will eventually be happily surprised. We have no excuse to be impatient now or making demands. Especially considering there is nothing else in the VR market coming on the horizon, in near future, that can really be a gamachanger (oh yeah there is something called StarVR, but will it ever happen?)
Yes. A complete package ONLY thanks to Microsoft WMR, using the same tracking system, same controllers, cameras and software as 10 other WMR headsets already has.
Pimax took the SteamVR tracking path instead, which is technically better, but turned out to be a more ābumpy roadā unluckily thanks to HTC and Valve. And here we have the delays, unfortunately. On the other hand, I would not like to see a Pimax with WMR tracking anywayā¦
I invested in the full package so no need to āupgradeā as Iāll keep the 5K+ I got as a Backer, until all items are fullfilled. What I did is fill the void pimax has left us by getting a competitors HMD to keep me fully engaged in VR until pimax changes that in 4 months 6 months?..who knows man.
Yeah initially that was the plan. But Pimax basically started from scratch, and it caused delays until even the first backers got their pledges. The m1 beta phase was almost 4 months, but it did a lot good. Also, we have to remember, a kickstarter pledge is not an order. You pledge to finance and help develop a product that you hopefully get one day. And luckily it happened. Backer headset were sent from fall 2018 and most were fulfilled february 2019. Now, once the pre-orders were live, thats when the clock started to tick, in my opinion. And thats less than a year ago.
Me too, and we are all waiting. Thats why Im still on LH 1.0. But we are not far off now
