Thanks.
I’m sure many people want to know how this game looks like and runs.

There are already plenty of problems even on normal htc vive
It makes no sense to test it now.
performs very good with 1080gtx and i7 6700k
all say that the problem is not yet solved. You probably didn’t even run the game
You’re probably have no idea what are you talking about.
LOL. Talk about ultra overkill
I’m running it on an i5-6600 and 1070 and still get frame reprojection on the Vive. Until they do some more serious optimization running it on the 8k will require an oc 1080ti and still have frame drops. Volta needed.
Yep. It doesn’t surprise me that Fallout 4 needs to runs reprojection . It isn’t a native VR title. Most demanding titles that add VR after words (DCS, Elite Dangerous, Dirt Rally, etc.) kick in RP and ASW at least some of the time even on my 1080ti. Still, I look forward to running it at some point down the road. Here’s hoping they can sprinkle some magic dust on it on it.
Given that Fallout 4 and skyrim use the same game engine and that they’ve got Skyrim running nicely on the PS4 they should be able to get Fallout 4 running much better with some more optimisation. I get the feeling that’s one of the reasons why they released Fallout on PC and Skyrim on psvr, easier to optimise Skyrim because the environments not as complicated as The Wasteland.
Skyrim running on the PSVR appears to be the original low res pc graphics assets and running at what would be low settings on the pc, so I would expect it to run ok. It’s hard to tell from videos, but it doesn’t even look like the Skyrim High Resolution Texture Pack (their own pack) is in use.
I run Skyrim through Vorpx with a 2k texture mod and 12 other graphics mods at pixel density 2 and it looks awesome and runs at very playable fps on my 1080ti. I wont be paying $80 Ca to go backward to 2006.
Fallout hasn’t created any new content or graphics either and it’s price is also greedy when compared to full native VR titles. I’ll wait for the sale, then maybe.
They issued a fix for the blur. Not sure about the rest
Yea the game looks fine now but the performance has tanked. Most people are reporting 80%+ reprojected frames even on 1080ti’s. There are a few fixes on r/vive that apparently work pretty well, which I’ll try out when I get home. Regardless the game is fun as hell, but I’m quite sceptical about being able to run this acceptably at a 200 degree fov as amazing as that would be.
I get about 33% reprojection in 1.0 supersample on my 1070
Have you opted into the beta? And is that 1.0 in steam or in the ini file?
That’s 1.0 on Steam and advanced settings, no beta. Taa off using the console and dpi scaling set to application in the properties of fallout4vr.exe. going to try the beta today
Yea the beta makes it look way better but tanks performance, I was playing earlier on 2.0 steam ss and getting 60-80% reprojection on my 1080. There are some ini file settings you can change to help it a lot which I’ll try out in the weekend.
After opting into the beta and trying the different tweaks scattered through these threads:
The game looks pretty good and I am running at about 25-30% reprojection on my 1070. Its definitely worth going to the beta. The particular tweaks that help with performance is the the last step in the second linked post.
Can you tell us what tweaks, in order to reproduce them? the people of the web in which I participate have been doing tests and have not achieved that even with a 1080.
What other specifications does your PC have?
Game is smooth and sharp
Running 1.6 supersample in steamvr
This is the most immersive game I have played so far what an amazing game
