WTF is a âveteranâs discountâ?
Google will tell You what the local time is:
https://www.google.com/search?q=2pm+est
Actually, should have been a response to @KamppisâŚ
I guess the term âveteranâs discountâ might confuse some people. In the USA, to honor the sacrifices our military veterans have made and as a sign of respect for their risking the loss of their lives for our country, many companies offer a âveteranâs discount.â Pimax was offering just such a discount when I preordered my 8KX. Just a bit of additional information here. Iâm not trying to be confrontational, and Iâm not trying to make you feel bad. Iâm a former sailor, so Iâm very familiar with foul language. But, many people find the phrase âWTFâ distasteful and disrespectful even when only using the first letters. To me, it almost sounds like youâre saying, I shouldnât be inquiring about such a thing as a veteranâs discount, that itâs bold or pushy of me to do so. Perhaps youâve never faced the danger of losing your life for your country. Perhaps you meant none of this in your wording, but it only causes confusion. Using only the word âwhatâ would have worked better.
Different countries put more emphasis on words than others. When in an international forum best not to jump the gun on expressions.
I donât know if itâs changed in the UK. But here many old folks would take offense to being called a geezer. My friendâs parents whom visited in the 70s really liked how we call them elderly.
I absolutely didnât mean to antagonize you by my choice of words, sorry if I came across that way.
As a European I find the concept of a discount based on the choice of someoneâs profession, well, letâs just say confusing but I do not live in your country nor do I believe any such discussion to be worthwhile.
As a German I did of course complete my mandatory military service, a concept that I believe much more suitable for citizens to show their actual contribution to a nationâs welfare but again, entirely different culture based on what has become apparent to be based on entirely different values.
So, no offense intended if possibly excused due to English not being my native language.
Oh, I took âveteranâs discountâ as a way of saying former backer discount plan. But there was an actual discount for American war veterans? At a Chinese company?

Also try searching:
2pm est in gmt
in google.
It gives 6 pm, but in duck duck go gives 7 pm.
Current windows EST time for me would match 6 pm.
Actually there is currently 1 hour difference between London time and GMT time.
I think best way to be sure is to convert from EST to your local time zone.
Pimax/SweViver should put up event countdown on Youtube.
But the Event is at 7pm not 6pm GMT like I said earlier.
Can believe @twack3r, the phrase âWTFâ went international and in Germany in popular culture itâs referring to something more along the lines of:
âWaaaaat bro?â
That it is English, and its original meaning is much stronger and different - doesnât matter to local popular cultures spawning elsewhere btw. The amount of people getting that is probably less than a promille.
Lol yes. All American swear words are used here too, because movies. And they absolutely donât carry the weight they do in the US. Sh!t is a very common and in a sense accepted word. F*ck too really. And WTF is really common and indeed just means whaaaat?! But then again, our native swear words are much worse and are mostly about horrible diseases so the American movie swear words substitute nicely.
Except that the time we now are on in Europe is daylight saving time (including UK), so UK is on GMT+1, and if we went by the book, 2pm EST will be 8pm BST (British summer time).
I believe that EST is supposed to be EDT and corresponds to Florida time, but it no longer amazes me that Pimax has no idea in what timezone and at which time they operate as they have been putting the wrong times (and time zones) on every event so far.
Why? What difference does it make?
All the other inferior models have a better and much more elegant solution. This is the flagship right?
Aesthetics just arenât my thing. If there is enough interest though, I could probably work out an aftermarket low-profile flex PCB cable/connector.
Is this the official answer from pimax?
âAesthetics just arenât our thingâ.
Itâs not only aesthetics, itâs; Modular x 1/2
Is there any better explanation than that?
I havenât hear anything about it, why only one usb on the flagship? Any good reason?
No. I donât work for Pimax. But my thing is resolution and such.
