FYI https://forum.pimaxvr.com/ is unreachable via Chrome and probably others. Error below:

This site can’t provide a secure connection

forum.pimaxvr.com uses an unsupported protocol.

ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

Unsupported protocol

The client and server don’t support a common SSL protocol version or cipher suite.

I know that’s the old URL and users should go to https://pimax.forum.com, but that now redirects to an error :slight_smile::

This site can’t be reached

forum.pimax.com ’s server IP address could not be found.

But probably best to have a redirect for the old URL too :+1:

EDIT: at time of update, only http://forum.pimax.com works, via redirect to https://community.openmr.ai/

Also is it intended that Pimax logo etc is replaced by MR icon etc? Or just work in progress?

Also https://forum.pimax.com/ doesn’t work only http://forum.pimax.com/, is it just me? Did I miss an update about it? I know the forum is being updated in general…

Just taken me 20 minuets to figure out what was going on, other user will be f£$&ed wondering what is going on with the forum.
A redirect would have been nice.
Trying to remember my god dam password to log into this one was a pain :slight_smile:

We are now doing the maintenance for the forum URL. Please kindly be patience for these few days. Our team is working on this issue! We are trying to merge the old URL to this OpenMR URL so that you guys won’t get lost on track. And also worry about the FORGET PASSWORD! Right?

But, there was no prior warning that you would take the original HTTPS URLs for both forum.pimax.com and forum.pimaxvr.com down. Was this unintended?

Most users will think the site is down and cannot find out what is going on. I suggest always giving advance warning of planned updates or downtime. Then where possible run old and new systems in parallel for as long as possible and if you can, give alternative means to access during the transition, thanks :+1:

Sending every one in the forum database the new URL would help.

Hello Pal,

This was unintended, as we are planning to work for this URL within these few days, and will make the official announcement by next week. Now we are trying to run it as a demo to check the stability of the website. Really feel sorry for causing the problems to all the Pimaxer!

We will make the prior announcement if there are any changes/updates within our forum, so that the Pimaxers are aware of it.

I don’t think there is meant to be a new URL, it’s just that they have temporarily invalidated the Pimax forum URLs - there’s usually a way to transfer domains to avoid downtime, or at least keep to an absolute minimum eg ~5 minutes, dependent on DNS caching
