I think they want 50,000 people to enter their competition to win a Crystal. So far they’ve achieved 500 people to win the big FOV lenses and 3000 people to win the LH FP. Total 4000 entries so far.
I think it’s just a ploy to get people email addresses lol.
I really don’t like this type of marketing it ‘achieves’ nothing.
A product at this price needs to sell itself. I’m still waiting for such a product to come along.

With current orders prior to the change they did announce it. You can receive the 42ppd lenses (though now just poly instead of glass) or purchase an upgrade to glass wider fob lenses for iirc $59us but the deadline to do so imho was not a reasonable period of time. I believe it was end of July? Announced with maybe a bit over a week to decide.
Still not good for public image with how this was rolled out of course.

Pimax contacted me a few days ago regarding my Crystal reservation, they asked why i hadn’t paid in full yet and said i need to complete the order by the 25th of August or i will lose the “promotion”. I replied saying i’m not completing the order until features such as wireless are ready and asked what promotion i will miss out on? They replied back saying “the promotion” 
i’m not sure what they meant, but anyway i’m not going to be pressured into buying an incomplete product so i’ve cancelled my reservation.
I have a $300 off coupon here for the Crystal that i got for error checking 1 of their websites last year, it looks like i won’t be using it. I think it’s reasonable if i passed it on for half of it’s value ($150) if someone wants to use it to get $300 off the price? DM me if interested.

The only main promotion I know of was the DMAS bonus.
But yeah their Support reps should have be able to provide that info if my guess is accurate

Glad to see @Omniwhatever came down a bit from his Pimax cloud 9. Seems like a very fair review. And yeah it seems Pimax will keep making the same stupid mistakes forever. Really not sure why they don’t learn from their mistakes. Actually, Pimax management should watch it, take those comments very seriously and make sure they change that behaviour. But it’s just not going to happen, it’s been going on forever like this. Really too bad.

AFAIK when I pre-ordered last year, we we going to get two sets of glass lenses.
AFAIK they were touting that horn on more than one occasion hyping up their headset.
So it was a surprise to me when they came out and said the 42PPD would be non-glass.
But hey. It’s not the only issue on the table.

This is why one should wait until the product is out of beta stage, and check what regular customers report in terms of quality & function. And what actually is in the box because that seems to be a surprise package no matter what Pimax reps may have told us repeatedly.

I agree it is these behaviours that will keep them as a small fish. Under estimating cost and timelines changing key details and hassles getting what should be a no brainer to exchange a defective product. Will only serve to continue to cement a poor company image in the public.

That also includes any product including gous and cpus. However there are always those who want to be first to have(early adopters).
Yes the changing exaggerated FoV. The 35ppd in your SS is at least close being diagonal as iirc hmdq reported the diagonal as iirc 123ish? with legit 103x103. So with that one is within industry exaggerated advertised specs.
Remember prior that was said to be horizontal if not mistaken which is totally incorrect.

Where do we see the latest updates from Pimax team on the Crystal?
I have been using the Crystal for a week now and the main problem is the controllers being very jittery for regular use.
I don’t have index controllers and so I have to wait for the Lighthouse plate.
But there have been a few firmware updates on the controllers without any improvement.
Just looking forward to an update.

Anyone whe went from 8kx to crystal notice the world scale seems to be smaller?
In fps it seems like the guns are much larger in the 8kx
