Pimax black line

Hi everybody,

I recently purchased a Pimax and it had arrived today. I’ve set it up and I’m having a fantastic time sussing out how the thing works.

There is one question that I do have however, the left eye has a black line going vertically through it, it’s reasonably large and fairly noticeable, and I’m just wondering whether this is in fact normal, or, if it’s not normal, if there is any way of fixing it?

Here is an image of the black line. I hope this helps make a determination about the headset.

Try downgrade the version piplay.

Cheers, I will downgrade PiPlay now and have a play with it.

Update:

I downgraded the Piplay software and now the line shines very brightly, like, way brighter than the rest of the screen. I put my finger on the sensor and noticed that part of the headset is constructed by a set of strips of some description, and it appears that one of the strips is missing, which is where that bright/black line is appearing.

Is that a defect, or is the headset meant to be built like that?

Hi MrAussieGuy,
I’m an Aussie as well and live near Melbourne.
I’ve had my Pimax for a couple of months and have it working almost satisfactorily.
Perhaps we can notes at some time.
