Just saw the new X019 Gameplay Trailer. My jaw fell on the ground, and then up into the sky: - YouTube
This is game changing.
This will give VR a favourable boost, especially highend VR. This is born for Pimax 8K X. The two really comes together at a good time. Pimax should seriously consider make good use of this golden opportunity, and attach 8K X to MSFS as closely as possible.
There are already promising indications for possible VR support for the launch of Flight Simulator 2020.
Statement of Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jörg Neumann
“It honestly wasn’t our plan [to support VR], but we are listening, and we heard it, so we will try our darnedest to make it happen,” Neumann explains. “Whether or not we’re going to pull it off for launch, […] we can’t commit to that at this point in time, but we have the desire.”
The early previews of FS 2020 look really awesome and in combination with the new Pimax Vision headsets a dream team is likely to come together, enabling a new era of immersion in flight simulators.
Even though the “immersion bottleneck” will then focus on hardware performance and software efficiency again, 2020 seems to be a real milestone for home pilots and VR enthusiasts. Let’s hope the best.
After playing Onward, PavlovVR, DCS, Elite Dangerous, etc… went back and played some TF2 multiplayer, both on a desktop, and through VorpX.
Sure, it was mildly entertaining, maybe useful to improve proficiency with a mouse, but not really worth being competitive about anymore.
With flight sim in particular, the feel is different enough that precise maneuvers in VR or flat screen requires some practice in that particular mode or at least deliberate estimation instead of spatial awareness.
This fly sim is amazing…the graphics is out of this world, they even have cars/traffics. If they support VR, it’ll be a dream…i mean just look at this video:
