Thatâs what they are doing with the 8K X. Are you asking why they arenât doing just the 8K X and not doing the 8K? If so, then it is because they are trying to hit different price points for different people.

itâs not so easy just put 2 chipsets work together! we need modify hardware and firmware accordingly.
To test a native 4k resolution on 1 display you need only 1 chip, so you can clearly see the difference between 2k upscaled on a 4k display and native resolution with only 1 display. Adding another one is only making tech process harder, means more cost and more gpu ressources needed, significantly.
Got a feeling that the 8K X âFullâ packages are possibly the only pledges that will allow acquirement of Standard 8K & if 8K X surfaces, the pledger is covered?
Ok but that changes what has been said before. It IS possible already, itâs just some extra work. Your technician before said it was simply not possible (or I misunderstood him).
In the video PROJECTIONS, Episode 24: Pimax 8K VR Headset Hands-on! by Tested, it was stated that the 8K X (two cable version) would also be capable of upscaling (8:03). A clear case of Norm asking the right question for us.

@PimaxVR In the tested video, you state that youâre working on a knuckles type controller. Will that version be included in the deluxe kickstarter package? If so, I would change my pledge to that, since I didnât want the old wand style controllers.
Will be an enormous box even though itâs said to be quite light so who knows.

Well personally I donât mind the price that much. But waiting till May without being able to cancel the pledge once the campaign ends, that just sucks. Who knows what will happen. So Iâll see what I do. Just had to pledge it though to save that $50, LOL.
Did you go for the full package? They should at least have the standard 8K ready by Jan-Mar. if weâre lucky.
