Anyone here tryied already fit/adjust VR Cover into Pimax ? It’s working great with my Vive.
I have this one HTC Vive Foam Replacement 6mm - VR Cover
and this HTC Vive Foam Replacement 14mm - VR Cover
$29… (ok, for a couple)… Holy sheep! What about $4 covers from AliExpress vendors?
This one is my choice, 11 mm IMO is more comfortable and most suitable for Vive than others.
I don’t know but your choice is still looks like cheap foam, my was soft, durable PU leather , easy too clean, munch wider ( don’t leave any mark on your face )
What you mean is “cheap foam”?
Mine is soft, cooling, durable PU leather, easy too clean, much wider and don’t leave any mark on my face too. It’s much better than stock cover and for six months of use looks like a new one.
Perhaps I will have an orgasm, tried a $15 cover, but no.
Did you know the price of PU leather? It not costs 29 bucks. Marketing magic.
Btw, HTC Vive Focus has a dense, “elite” PU leather cover, and this is terrible, eeh… IMO Focus is terrible overall.
vr cover produced in my country (near my province), last time I ask them about cover for pimax, but still be in consideration.
But my friend has vr cover for vive and when I get pimax 5k+ this month, I will make a chance to test.
I got the 6mm VR Cover pads for my Vive and one of the two came apart at the seams (where it’s glued together) after 5-6 months of not very heavy use and. The other one is still holding together, but I’m not using the Vive so much lately.
I contacted VR Cover to see if they’d replace the bad one and they weren’t willing to - they said because it was past the 6 month point at that time. At the price they’re charging, I have to say that I expected more, both in terms of QA and service.
I’ve had durable leather goods. I’ve had PU leather goods. But I’ve never seen durable PU leather.
Durable PU leather is a misnomer.
First: It was a quote
Second: we are talking about VR cover, not a biker’s gear
Third: Durability is just one parameters for evaluating of any material.
The author of the definition had in mind that his PU cover is durable than foam rubber.
The cover material does not have to be durable than the buffalo or stingray skin, but the skin of a sparrow is lot less durable than PU leather.
I hope you get it this month because I’m one backer number before you… I would like to think I’ll get it this month but I’m having my doubts!!!
I think from china to thailand, should not over than 1 month when I buy from aliexpress , but ever buy nolo vr, maybe longer than 1 month because they ship by boat, but better for custom.
It’s a crap-shoot for me… when I purchase items from aliexpress items takes anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks. Usually an items stays no longer than 2 days once it reaches customs for me in NY.
Definitely waiting for VR Cover to release thicker velour padding for Pimax headset.
I was skeptical of VR Cover initially, but I have to admit they did great job for oculus cv1 (I only bought it after original interface literally came apart). Positive and unexpected surprise was that VR Cover fixed fogging in cv1. With Pimax, I need to move lenses a bit further from my eyelashes and hopefully give a bit of space to my nose
Yes VR cover does not look like a bargain and yes, the material is worth a fragment of what they are charging for it. Went for a much cheaper one for my vive and was not disappointed.
With the Odyssey + though I was glad to pay every penny for VR Cover because I also bought the design that fixed the flaws of the HMD as well.
If it would be even half as effective for the Pimax I’d buy it right away.

It effectively fixes the nose discomfort inherent to the Pimax for those of us with well endowed schnozes.
