Hello,
I have a Pimax 5K+ and want to connect it to the MSI GS75 Stealth 9SE laptop, which has a DisplayPort output over USB-C/Thunderbolt3. I have CableMatters DisplayPort 1.4 adaptor, but the PiTool still says DP not connected. I have updated the laptop BIOS and Thunderbolt firmware, but nothing changed. Could you help me how to solve this? Will different adaptor work or this laptop won’t work at all?
Thank you

There’s a week-long national holiday in China, so it may be awhile before you get an answer. @Matthew.Xu, please have someone in support investigate and post an answer in the forum, for future reference. Thanks!
Unfortunately, this might not be solvable. It sounds like a laptop port problem. Here’s the most related info I could find: Display Port over usb-c - HP Support Community - 6111889
It might be possible to use an HDMI to DP adapter, but I’m not sure if that would work or not.

I have found this article, where they describe how to get Oculus working with DisplayPort over USB-C/Thunderbolt 3, but they say that the USB-C must be connected internally to the Nvidia GPU.
Later I found this article, where someone says he did get VR output working even though it seems the USB-C is not connected to Nvidia GPU on laptop model similar to mine, but he used different DisplayPort adaptor. Do you think it will work with that adaptor? The adaptor is certified for only 4K 60Hz. His laptop is the same model line as mine, but he is using Oculus. The screen shot of Nvidia control panel is also the same as mine (except I have RTX 2060), but my adaptor does not show in the Thunderbolt control center.

I think this is a different problem. MSI GS75 Stealth 9SE laptop should support DisplayPort over USB-C, full 4 lanes of DP 1.4 (at least that is what I understood from MSI spec MSI GS75 Stealth - The Game Just Got Real).
EDIT: I misread the OP.
@lukas.mican Can you try to connect your laptop to some regular monitor with a DP port and check how it shows up in the Windows displays (if it will become a monitor connected to Nvidia GPU)?
Ok, I noticed now on the amazon product page this:
Requires 8K enabled USB-C ports (only available on the NVIDIA RTX graphics cards and Intel’s next gen Ice Lake chips)
So I guess you should try to figure out how is your USB-C port wired. The first article you linked suggests that it should be wired to Nvidia GPU and your adapter product page on amazon says that too for 8K support.
The other article seems to contradict it, but with a different adapter, which I feel might not be sufficient for Pimax (even if it works with Rift S), but it is hard to tell.

9se is a 2060 graphics isn’t it? Is that enough for 8k? I also run on laptop but i9 rtx 2080 on mini-DP port with adapter.
I bought and tested another adaptor and I am happy to confirm that Wavlink Thunderbolt 3 Dual DisplayPort 8K Adapter works well. I just plugged the adaptor and PiTool detected the headset without any problems.
