Pimax 4k Potential Buyer and Poor Lense Quality

So, I bought Pimax 4k back in December 9, 2016. I had to sell it because the lenses are blurry in the center, and on the edges. I heard about replacement lenses Pimax was sending out, but after receiving them, I still had the same issue.

Someone gave the idea that the IPD may be incorrect, but that wasn’t the case, as I tried many different numbers. And, my Rift, Vive, GearVR, and Wearality, don’t have that issue. And both GearVR, and Wearality, don’t have hardware IPD adjustments, just like the Pimax. So, something is specifically wrong with the Pimax lenses.

I have Rift, Vive, GearVR, and Wearality, and they all have clear centers. Rift and Wearality have clear edges.

I really want a Pimax, as Virtual Desktop is the most important application for me, but the lenses seem to be too inferior to the other major headsets. Also, they seem to have a short focal distance, as I notice my eyes are forced to focus much closer than on the Rift, Vive, GearVR, and Wearality. Something about the Pimax lenses is just off.

Does anyone know if Pimax will ever change to better lenses like on the Rift? With Rift, or Wearality style lenses, and Pimax screen, it would be the greatest chance for a potentially usable Virtual Desktop.

Perhaps in a version 2 model.

The issue as others have mentioned is likely hardware ipd.

While you can adjust soft ipd similarily as you mentioned with gearvr. The gearvR is likely closer to your ipd when measuring lenses centers.

From what i have researched its best to have physical adjustments; then fine tune with soft adjustments.

I don’t think its specifically the lenses but the average ipd that was used hadn’t used a large enough demographic to determine average worldwide ipd.

I confess that I get confused by these “blurred” lenses in the center, and the only anomaly I see, very rarely, is the inner edge of the lens, that part that is close to the nose. Sometimes I see the image stretched out, but it’s so tiny and so random that it does not bother me.
Here the image is clear, crystal clear, but I think it would look better if I could reduce the IPD to 50.

Any updates to the headset that has improved things? Is there a difference in the headsets being made now vs. those from a year ago?
