Payment correction after Kickstarter closes

I encountered the same, but when I pledged over 1000. I found out then that KS does a temporary charge of about 20% of the pledge when you go over a certain amount. So make sure your bank accepts the charge when you increase the pledge, then it should go through.

Hi @XabbuSwe, may you help me to answer a doubt that I have  ?
I have pledged over $1000, what happens if my bank for some reason declines that payment? Does one week work for additional payment? Or am I going to be screwed, and have to wait for Pimax official selling?

Thanks in advance.

My experiences with it is that you have one week to solve it with your bank after the Kickstarter has ended. Give me a minute and I will find the relevant info on the KS site

Here is the relevant info on Kickstarter about what happens if your charge gets declined, and how to handle it.
You will have 7 days to resolve the issues

Edit: Bonus for people having problem with unscheduled charges is that when you do the ā€œFix paymentā€ is that is pushes the charge directly then. So I found a solution on my own possible future problems.

Sometimes you need to contact your card provider as yes there islikely a cap.

As a couple of guys have confirmed whem the pledge is over 1000usd they charge a 20% to test card. In my case I hadnt transfered any funds to that account so it wouldnt go through

Less than $1000 pledge nothing is charged in advance. Seems like the forum users here are more knowledgeable than kickstarter support

Yes, our bakers may use our official website to deal with the payments after the Kickstarter ends.

Great. Will 8K X backers be able to buy the 8K you send them?

You mean to buy 8k by our website?it need a short long time, we must ensure the bakers’ delivery first.

I mean for people who backed the 8k X. If you send them the 8K first and they want to keep it can they buy it also? Can they pay you $499 extra to keep the 8k?

A Good question for sure ,though I don’t see why not
That’s what I’m planning to do.

I read quite a few times that you needed to pay before close of kickstarter…Otherwise I’d have kept the money in my bank account in my home loan offset account and played it safe. It would suck for those of us who paid in advance for this to be allowed.

It seemed it was answered crystal clear in the thread… The ironic thing is that you seemed to start the thread…
i. Pay kickstarter in advance to keep the 8k,…
ii. return the 8k when the 8k X is ready…
iii. or swap it for a $200 voucher…
iv. or don’t get the 8k at all and wait for the 8k X.

Well of course pimax would rather you pay upfront lol i’m pretty sure Pimax support will take care of us when the time comes they end up saving money on the return shipping costs anyway.

Yes those are the options currently available. Im trying to get an answer on buying it outright before original order ships because not everyone could afford to pay for both upfront

I agree, that there might be a gap before shipping the actual product where they might budge. Although I’d still have no sympathy for you if they said no (especially if it is after the 8k has shipped)

They will have sympathy because there getting five hundred for a used product and avoiding shipping charges
And all honesty we will just have to wait and see

Sure but you don’t have much grounds for a 2nd set of stretch goals or anything…obviously that’s up to Pimax.

My card was declined. I added a new card and that was declined too. I’ve got 7 days to resolve issue. What a pain in the a@@@.

If your card(s) have the amount available, then contact your provider as you will likely need to authorize the payment.

I had to do that on my 3dprinter purchase. When a user mentioned in the forums about it. I called them to have it pre authorized.
