As some of you may be aware, goertek ended production of index motion controllers in China last year.
This means the remaining stock is all that is left, and there are currently no indication that the new “Roy” controller will be lighthouse tracked.
Index controllers are now out of stock in several territories, which does not bode well for future lighthouse tracked headset like the new bsb2, somnium vr1, meganex and of course the pimax crystal/super with their lighthouse faceplates!
I’ve had several people contact me recently to see if they could acquire my IP for the modular controller project. It’s not something I ever planned to sell, as it requires lots of pre development work to productivize, as well as some licensing agreements for haptics and input.
The openXRC modular controller was the final design I worked on following project caliper and project modular, both are well documented on skarredghost.
