One base station enough?

Trying to figure out what extras I need to add when filling out the survey - couple questions…

1.) Will current gen Vive controllers work with the Pimax base stations (I heard no)?

2.) Is it possible to get full headset and controller tracking/functionality with just one Pimax base station (assuming there is line of site)? Vive doesn’t seem to work unless the two light houses are in sync…

Thanks

Vive Controllers will not work with PiMax Lighthouses. However PiMax Headset & controllers work with either Vive or PiMax Lighthouses.

Not sure if Vive Lighthouses require a pair or not.

PiMax has figured how to use just 1. But unsure if thats both v1 & v2 lighthouses. A Vive user might know if you can use 1.

I very often only use 1 if I’m playing something like DCS or Elite, where I’m mostly facing one direction and using a HOTAS. Even though the headset tracks fine with one, if you are using motion controllers it’s too easy to obscure them with your body, so one lighthouse is pretty bad for room scale. the Pimax 8k headset may deal with 360 better than Vive as they have more width than your head, and its possible that sensors can be seen from all directions.

No matter V1 or V2 lighthouses, it depends on 8K HMD itself. Just make sure that the lighthouse height can scan the headset to obtain 360 degree tracking. @pimaxun

Hello @Heliosurge,

One lighthouse can work normally, but can’t use one v1 and one v2 lighthouses at the same time.
