Since the reason is a possible violation of EU laws, this might spread to other countries. I for one would welcome if FB get slapped around with a lawbook a bit, they stepped over the line too often already.
They probably are trying to consolidate everything in a run in order to make being split up in the aftermath of the upcoming antitrust lawsuits harder.
This here should highlight the things a bit.
