So I wonder what happened to the new version of Pitool
Yes, me too. The reason I received the email is that I have a ticket open for Journey of the Gods not working on Pimax due to the game using the latest Oculus SDK however I have now decided that using Revive is a much better idea because of all the options that you have for Revive in OpenVR Advanced Settings and chaperone and centre marker work.
Unfortunately that game and a few others don’t work with Revive either due to a LowLevelFatalError which CrossVR is looking into.
It’s working with revive with pimax. @Onetime Lighthouses yes are between Valve & Pimax for bad contracts. Revive seems to be fine maybe with lower Pimax Render of 0.5x.
It also makes sense CrossVR not supporting 3rdparty SteamVR headset Drivers directly (Pimax/WMR/iVRy/OSVR/Trinus/Riftcat etc…) Too many to support any 1 directly.
Just like iVRy Author said about supporting all of NoloVR’s driver soup mess directly.

I mean a VW Golf gets you anywhere as well, and that Mustang takes more maintenance, but damn it’s way more fun to drive.
Pimax5K+ with Index Controllers now (2nd batch no faults). Will sell them when the Pimax Sword Sense Controllers finally come.
ahh, so Mark got you in the end, next step will be a FB account needed for using oculus hard- and software
yea, that’s why I own both now…while I wait for Sword Sense. Nothing wrong with having a 2 car garage
Nah, had a CV1 before the 5K+…the touch controllers were the best out there in my opinion. I now have 2 HMD’s that together allow me to have my cake and eat it too while I wait for my Sword controllers since Index controllers won’t be available in Canada any time soon.
I know, right? I had been debating between a Rift S or an Index…
Got a Quest and couldn’t be happier.
The Quest had me tempted, mostly because it’s untethered, but in the end I wanted to utilize my pc’s gpu/cpu capability and have access to my full library of games. I’ll pick up an extension cable soon that will allow me to play in a much larger space in the room next to my pc, since Rift S uses insideout tracking.
You still could though. Wireless streaming from PC to Quest is getting better and better.
Going to split this topic as CrossVR unvalidated claim doesn’t belong in Defector discussion. It is working is the main thing.
A post was merged into an existing topic: Revive Rant Unvalidated
Just want to report that Defector can launch with the new Pitool 1.0.1.180
and it are able to detect the nod action that was not possible when using revive.
but the game are still displayed with way to dark colours… have tried to mess with PI-tools colour and brightness settings, but the starting point are just to far away for the settings to correct it to where it shod be.
it helps a bit, but,far from how it was supposed to look.
That’s great that it at least works now!
Tried any other oculus games?
Maybe the dark is because it’s assuming it’s not the old rift but the new one and it has different brightness levels etc being lcd instead? Who knows!
Journey of the Gods works perfectly now with the new PiTool but not with Index Controllers.
Pressing the A button is pressing both the A and B button and the B button itself doesn’t do anything when pressed which makes them unusable.
So probably you can’t play Oculus games from PiTool with the Index Controllers at the moment.
No not yet… sorry. most of my vr time goes with Defector right now…
the game is currently way too dark to enjoy right now…
and for some reason I feel dizzy in the game…almost like fps is too low…but I’m running 82 fps average so I don’t know what’s causing it
its because of revive , got the same problem
It can be run directly from PI-tool now… and there it are still way to dark…
Davidwanj’s fps problem… i have no guess, except i havd to put IP-tool to 0.5 and in game gfx down to high from the default ultra setting when using revive… but with PI-tool i can do it with 1 and ultra… but have found the game to be a bit more stabel when running at 0.75
on a RTX 2080 TI… that are limited a bit by my old I7 5820 @ 4.5 Ghz… (i’m in the middel of an upgrade process… thats why )
