I’m tempted to grab the Rift S, just so I can finally have a complete/solid experience in VR. BestBuy has it for 549.00. Tired of waiting endlessly for the silent Pimax rolling train to end in completion sometime in 2020 I’m sure.
There is a savegame you can download to get past the stuck.
Put it there
C:\Users\ (Your Username) \AppData\LocalLow\Twisted Pixel\DFCTR
Cool I will try it when when I get home
I can confirm that it works, but the games feels laggy from time to time… Maybe I have the lower the settings more…
Is it any good ? Most of the reviews seem very promising.
Well when the actions begins its great… The dialogs and stuff is a bit meh…
Either way it seems obvious that he will not try and add support for Pimax headsets so come on Pimax give us some information .
Yes it would be nice if Pimax sorted this out so I can use my 5k+ which I have invested over $4000 AU in including my recent purchase of a 2080 ti
me too lol. so sad actually…
I received an email from Pimax a couple of days ago saying that a new PiTool will be released this week and the newest Oculus SDK will be implemented in it.
I find however that starting an Oculus game from PiTool in room-scale is too risky seeing as you have no chaperone or centre marker (I always use the one from Advanced Settings).
Dollerama Anti fatigue lego playmats work well. If mem serves before chaperones there was a kickstarter for carpet.
I already have puzzle mats covering my entire play space.
Wow I haven’t read that anywhere else . I hope they do release a new version of Pitool this week that fixes oculus support .
I have the text in menu working now on my 5K
what i did was to turn off “Compatible with parallel Projections”
and in the first scene with the interview stating it do look fine… so apparently the option are not needed for this game… but now i seem to be stuck at an newer ending loading screen
Do any of you know how long the loading times normally are in this game?
(I have it installed on an SSD)
Edit:
it are trough the new revive pre-release i got it working
Edit 2:
i did make it run by lowering the graphics to high from the default ultra, but to be able to do so without the game crashing, i had to temporarily lower the “Render Quality” to 0.75 and cap the steam VR auto adjust to 100% (to make sure it do not pull up in the other direction) then i could change it and then exit and set pi tool back to 1.0 render quality. i do not know why it crashes… but think i it could be something with high memory usage?
Now i’m stuck at the mirror nod and can’t pass that… think this migth be some thing with the Pimax -> steam interface… as it looks like the users of native steam headsets do not have the same problem. but PI-max do share the problem with the Microsoft HMD’s.
next i have to try with the save game… hope it works.
Regards.
Thomas.
Broke down waiting for pimax to deliver a full vr experience so looking forward to trying the Rift S when it arrives tomorrow. Will finally have motion controllers, which half my library requires.
Best choice for price point.
Of course. Though it is funny he says about 3rdparty steam headset drivers & mentions experimental support for WMR.
Used revive in the past & it work okay on p4k.
Follow this youtube. Defector workingbon pimax 5k+ with latest Revive!
Guess he supports after all.
One tip from Comments set Pitool Render to x0.5
For convienance @nukular’s bypass for mirror.

Thanks for this.
i could not get the save game to work… so i did find my old rift like he did and got past the mirror with it
Oh and i also found that i had to set pi-tool down to at least 0.75 to get it to work… but it was still a bit unstable… so i will try 0.5
But regarding the rift… looking trough that pipe again… and the low resolution and all the glare… here the 5K are way better.
but the Touch controllers… so mush better then the crappy vive wands… it makes me seriously consider to play the game trough with the rift… cant wait until we get the PI-max controllers!!!
I am guessing the x0.5 render might be needed in a lot of Oculus content. 0.5 is likely in pimax terms what most headsets operate at in comparison. A lot of unreal games seem to operate better at a lower pimax render.
I think @nukular posted a by pass/save for the mirror as well.
