NEW Lighthouse 2.0 Design Test Video

Have you seen the Tracking pucks? We’d need a v2.0 though.

is it 2.0? so it can track up to 10 meters??

It´s possible to order it ? adding it to my pledge ? Even after this phase of kickstarter ?

Thanks.

Is there any truth behind them shipping different headsets with two different sensors? It makes no sense to me

I’d say no. No upgradability if they released v1 tracking. Plus any who bought 1 lighthouse wouldn’t appreciate having an incompatible headset to a v2 lighthouse.

Also lighthouse v2 is said to be cheaper to make.

I remember some Pimax staff saying that it could be an option if anyone wanted the older sensors on their headset, because they had a lot of extras. However I don’t know why anyone would want them.

Logistically it would be a nightmare to offer two different sensor options. The 8K and 8K X being two different headsets is bad enough

We will inform our backers when our official website launched. Thank you

Official website dedicated to the 8k?

Whereas the first base station was box-shaped, this one has a curved front. Crucially, though, the new setup supports up to four base stations, whereas the previous model supported two. That should make for even more accurate VR experiences when they arrive later this year.
@Durante “They are $60/unit in bulk from Valve.”

It will allow out of the box to use 4 tracking stations to track an area of 10m x 10m (33 x 33 foot)

Yes, you’re right. But I do not know why they continue saying that there are 10 x 10 meters (100m2) 3 foot is one meter, so there are 11 x 11 meters (121m2), because there are 33 x 33 foot. No?

1 foot is around 30cm so 1 metre is closer to 3.3 feet.

Sorry, but you will need four.
