Too bad that not only was the price expensive in 2018 but also the resolution was only 1,830 × 1,464 per eye.
Everything else about the StarVR was high quality.
This site is probably wrong. For two panels like that Acer would need two DP 1.4 connections. Besides it looks like they are using one panel split for two eyes as the acer page suggests (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/conceptd-home). Even at the half of the res it could be interesting WMR headset, but I am afraid it will also have a fixed IPD (which one big panel suggests) and this is no go for me.
If you check the original site, it’s put a cross through the ‘per eye’, so it’s just a single 4k panel, so also no hardware IPD. So, pretty much a HP Reverb.
Exept of showing a picture of the StarVR and the OJO they only talked about partnering with autodesk and blabla. It’s at the end of the presentation on youtube.
Yeah just saw it. I wish Acer was a bit more clear. Anyway if you look at their OJO device, it does seem to have an IPD button, which in theory might be only software related but I think there’s a good chance that UploadVR is correct and that this thing has hardware IPD. In which case I won’t get the HP Reverb but will go for this little baby

UploadVR talks about two 2k*2k panels, so in that case hardware IPD would be possible
