Hi, please let me know the color of indicator light on the headset when it’s connected.

And more details about this issue same as @Heliosurge suggested, thanks

the indicator on the headset is blue

I have a Intel Core i7-7700 HQ with 16g RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 TiGDOR5. I’m using PiPlay version 1.2.97

May be you will write problems…

Hi, can PiPlay detect the headset? Or any SteamVR error popup?

Okay onething a user found was not only ensure that your igpu (intel graphics) disabled in the bios but to launch windows device manager & also ensure its disabled here as well.

Hi, Ok I Had to reboot my computer because I accidentally deleted one of my drive. Everything is back to normal with my computer but I haven’t tried to install my pimax, because I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake agian. So this time I was hoping someone could walk me threw it or install it for me. Thank you

It’s not hard.

Plug in the pimax headset into the USB and hdmi ports on your gtx1050

Download the PiPlay driver

Disable your Antivirus during install. (personally I do not do this but pimax recommends it)
Run the installer

Choose your installation path

Let the install finish.

I always reboot at the end of the installation

Job done

O k lets see, so we uderstant each other. The first time I installed the Pimax I installed the way you recommend, by not disabling the anti virus. When I would start up PiPlay a siries of very confusing pop ups would appear saying turn off my vid card in bios or play in direct x mode then I would put it in direct x mode and then it would say headset not detected. In any event I couldn’t get it to work. So in researching your forums it was recommended to reinstall and disable the anti virus. So I did and this time received the same pop ups. So this time while trying to disable my video card I inadvertently deleted my firmware from my computer. So in turn had to factory reset my computer and install the drivers. So this time I would prefer if someone from pimax could walk me through it or even if posible take control of my computer and do it for me. Thanks

If your computer has onboard/igpu go into bios & disable it. Alsi go into windows device manager & disable igpu (intel graphics usually)

As @Heliosurge says, it sound like you are installing on a Laptop that has 2 graphics cards. an igpu ( integrated graphics card which is usually low power and not capable of VR) and another more powerful but also power hungry GPU - usually an Nvidia mobile card

the installation should be the same apart from you need to disable the onboard graphics card that cannot do VR. so yes the crappier (probably intel igpu) needs to be disabled in BIOS and in device manager.

this link will tell you how to disable igpu in bios: How to Disable the Onboard Graphics in BIOS – Ultimate Systems Blog

this is how you disable igpu in device manager:
START > Control Panel > System > Select the “Hardware” tab > Device Manager > Display Adapters. Right click on the listed display (common is the intel integrated graphics accelerator) and select DISABLE. Do not select uninstall as this may cause further problems

then make sure the Pimax is plugged in and the machine has been rebooted so it is using the more powerful graphics chip… then run the pimax install
