I hope so as well. If not I will have to question Sebastian impressions from his latest videos
@VR-TECH I am extremely interested to know whether a single calibration file is adequate for all/most StarVR headsets, or whether they require individual calibration.
@Djonko Even including the penalty for non-RGB stripe by the Vive Pro, I still expect close to Oculus DK2 resolution, and close to Oculus CV1 readability.
What I found interesting is that Sebastian mentioned or led to believe was that more than one file installation. I asked him for such files but he never replied. So I guess I have to wait for StarVR to respond to my email.
Yeah, why doesnāt Sebastian just email the files over?
Probably following security protocols
Guys please refrain from talking about calculating the StarVRās resolution for now. Iām going to merge all of this discussion into a new thread so that @VR-TECHās thread doesnāt get too cluttered.
New thread is here: https://community.openmr.ai/t/calculating-the-resolution-of-the-starvr-one/28109/32
A post was merged into an existing topic: Calculating the resolution of the StarVR One
That is not what Sebastian is using. The download didnt do anything. I remember him stating that he got instruction to only use the files from the USB stick that I did not received
LOL this is fun.
For my unit the displayoptimization data is said to be in the factory but for the new units in the cloud. I just donĀ“t understand why would you need to send the data via usb stick if itĀ“s onlineā¦and whatĀ“s the online database for if you need a stick. Bevare of the update procedure of the compass. It flashes the units firmware without any warning and there is specific instruction on the site when a flash is failed.
I donĀ“t quite understand their flow of reasoning. To me firmware update should always be warned and made a bit more tedious proces than hitting a button āupdateā
@Metal-O-Holic You received the StarVR One as well?
Thanks, all of that has been done on hour one
thats what i did see alsoā¦ thx for the picturesā¦ i think those usb files will helpā¦Let see what star vr their response isā¦
Do you have the StarVR headset?
The reason I ask is, because the headset needs to be connected for the optimization to download.
No I donāt Iām just curious.
OK, yes, that file did not solved anything. That is why I am befuddle that StarVR sent Sebastian and specify to only use the calibration files from the USB stick oppose to the download update
So what happend is you click that ādownloadā button? Does it actually download some files? As it says in the manual, these are unique files.
