Thanks for your response. As I understand it, the Pimax 8K+ is currently shipping out with a soft black stretchy headstrap. Iā€™d like to get that type in particular. I ordered the 8KX + MAS and my order number is SO11589.

As this is me, Iā€™ll respond on this. I have a fairly small noggin.

I did not spend much time trying the possible positions for the headphones. But I quickly realized I could not place them in the ideal location straight up. I simply moved them backwards, and they kind of held in place. I wasnā€™t really concerned about the audio here. I donā€™t recall a suggestion about placing them UNDER the MAS.

Certainly not a great setup, and I admit to not trying to place the headphones over OR in front of the mounted speaker. It looks like it might be awkward, possibly falling onto the HMD. If the mounted speaker can be removed and become flatter there, it seems more plausible to use headphones normally. They did mention unscrewing them. But as it isnā€™t released yet, who knows the final config?

Maybe if you have a big (tall head) you could have the headphones reach the top of your head OVER the mounted speaker. But the headphones were set as small as possible and Iā€™m guessing they wouldnā€™t easily get over the mounted speakers.

I recommend watching the sweviver videos to see if others found a better solution. Personally, I didnā€™t really care about the audio, and was really interested in the motion sim aspect of the setup. :wink:

I am also interested in knowing whether I can put a headset under the MAS? Can we have pictures? ^^ Or Sweviver making a video about it?

I have the same concern. I need to use large over ear headphones with active noise cancellation so it is critical that they fit over my ears properly to block outside sound.

The biggest apparent issue is the black housings for the built in speakers. @SweViver can those speaker housings be removed to narrow down the profile of MAS for using high quality over the ear headphones?

Iā€™ve tried 3 or 4 headphones with the X (because with early versions of it in months past the devices had no audio) and found I could comfortably seat them. We also did so at CES and later at the meetups for those who wanted to try.

On reducing the profile width I imagine that is possible (for use with headphones that are either not adjustable or have an incompatible profile) though I havenā€™t seen the version where you can unscrew the audio cowlings.

Could you comfortably seat them with the headphones going over the top of the head, though? IIRC at least in one of the CES videos, the headphones were being worn tilted so the top was somewhere lower down.

Exactly, and if they arenā€™t straight up the ear cups will be angled so unless you have elf/vulcan ears thatā€™s no good!
