MS just added Skyrim, Fallout & Doom to their list of AAA VR titles.
I wonder what plans they have up their sleeves for VR. We need every bit of funding behind quality products we can get!
tbh bethesda has made such an arse out of themselves that for the first time in forever I actually feel a little optimistic hearing someone has been bought by microsoft.
Both companies sadly haven’t done much for VR lately, Doom Eternal shipped without VR support and WMR, with the exception of the G2, isn’t exactly flourishing.
But according to this humorous video, Skyrim 2 will be released on 22.2.2022 with full VR support.
I doubt Bethesda has anything planned for VR.
They only reason we got Fallout, Doom and Skyrim was because they were trying to backup their lawsuit to prove that they were a serious VR company before “Evil Carmack stole all their VR”
Each of these ports were as “low effort” as possible and it took the community to actually make them good.
Their last game was that disgusting CyberPilot and since then I have heard nothing but crickets from them for VR
think about it what VR news have you heard from bethesda in 2020 or since cyberpilot
Bethesda hasn’t created a single noteworthy from the ground up VR title . (I dont really count Doom VFR because i think it feels like another port of DOOM 2016 but with different DLC levels)
With EA releasing Squadrons next month , I cant believe it but EA has now surpassed them for proper new IP VR titles
Maybe that StarField game could have VR support , that could be cool in a Star Citizen No mans Sky meets RPG kind of way… but I doubt it .
Especially now that M$ owns em… i wouldn’t count on any more VR form them.
You may be right but we can only hope that some real money gets behind some efforts that help the vr industry!
