I also wanted to buy a Pimax 8kX.

However, I can only advise against so far.

Pimax apparently did not solve the case problems until today.

Apparently, nothing is done against it.

I received my Fifth or Sixth Pimax 4 days ago.

After 2 days again cracks!

It is cruel!

I am also so angry.

I’m starting to feel like it.

I also can not believe that there are housings that do not break.

Always cracks. It never ends.

Instead of solving the problem, Pimax is building new VR goggles with the old scrap case.

I am so angry and disappointed.

I can only advise against buying a pimax goggle.

You obviously get all VR glasses with cracks.

The manufacturing process gained a custom designed automated calibration system a few months ago. Most devices calibrated that way didn’t begin to appear until late August.

The optical deviation between now is dramatically less. Previously some of that process was manually performed.

Answer to the question: What calibration?

Lens and panel orientation, alignment, backlight luminance and uniformity, optical performance. Also things like glue and adhesive can be detected. This step now occurs prior to the extensive manual examinations.

After late August internal device manufacturing process was improved. As for the improved housing, models containing improved housing reportedly started shipping on the 1st September or September 16th, having regard to the below two posts:

Detailed progress of modules, accessories and new products will be announced on September 16.

The replacement of housing cracking will be shipped from Shanghai at the beginning of next month. [Said on the 28th August]

The housings on devices stocked in the FL office are improved but they are not the version with the more significant changes. That would have to come from the SH office.

We have strengthened the QA training and management of the factory, and in order to ensure quality, we have added a second QA test in Shanghai to ensure product quality and control.

They do have improved housing materials and an improved design though. Original headsets under RMA should receive the new version housing (but not the other vision enhancements).

This was over a month ago, are RMAs still not coming from the Shanghai office? @PimaxUSA Why is this still happening when @Timo.H1 's above RMA request has been made after 16th September? Economy shipping takes 2-4 weeks from China to the US, and 28 days before the 25th of October is the 28th of September.
16th September-25th October is 6 weeks after the date given for RMA of new casing improvements would occur on the 16th September.

45 days ago is enough time to ship a headset and return it from Shanghai isn’t it? Can this be clarified and will Pimax indicate the status of stocking other warehouses besides the Shanghai office with the models containing improved housing and calibration referred to above?
