Lenses go cloudy in dark scenes

I hope someone can help. Playing ATS and everything’s fine, but when the night falls my lenses go cloudy, as if the lenses are steamed up.

anyone had this prob and a fix.

i thinks its because of the lack off contrast

I found that it was more noticeable when there is low contrast in the scene, eg if it is all dark, then you get that feeling as there is mainly the black. But also another thing was I tolerated it more when the lenses were a bit further from my face…

Thanks for the reply’s .
I can’t fin a contrast setting in ATS or Pimax I will try Nvidia settings, or is there another way around this.

You are aware these are not oled panels and black will always be ‘cloudy’ and not perfect black?

A good way to compare is to use small FOV and compare the in-game color to the out-of-game (aka non-rendered FOV on the edges). If they look the same, then the “cloudiness” you are seeing is just the LED backlight.

Thanks for reply, but the prob is, that in game in ATS the night falls and my headset goes cloudy and worse when the light is darker.
The display is great in game daylight. Any thoughts?

This is normal, it’s a lcd screen it has backlights so you will never see black properly. It makes the Pimax quite a poor choice for most dark games or horror games, but it’s very good for bright games and bright areas. Elite dangerous is about the only dark game I can play with it, even games like Alien Isolation etc are a bit messed up. Imagine watching Alien using a projector in a bright room…it’s kinda like that, you see no details at all in black areas. It’s totally normal though for this screen type.
