I have the original Leap Motion and I’m a big fan of the tracking, it was close to perfect already imo so I’m very curious to see what applications will be developed now that they made it even better.

If they improve wand emulation more then I will definitely be buying. Because hands-free VR control is to wands as 200 fov is to 110.

The cool thing about Leap Motion is that they improve the technology using software without lure clients to buy new units. That’s pretty awesome, means their hardware is ages forward and just software wasn’t ready to take the full potential of the hardware.

Understandable too. It’s interpretation of a video feed really

Now this will be good news overall. But Leap motion v2 is at present only available as integrated item.

Which means headsets that don’t have them built in have to use v1.

Actually… could be fun seeing someone printing in 3D a shape that can be nicely glued in bottom of P4K and inside this shape place the Leap Motion V1 pcb…. then make a tiny hole in P4K to allow Leap Motion get electricity feed and connection to PC from within the P4K’s USB module and basically…you will get P4K with hands tracking haha

Microsoft Paint Work

What can you actually do with leap motion? Can you use it in any games?

Why not

Would it still work if you had a mock up of a weapon in your hand . I guess not because it would be difficult to track the index finger. It looks pretty cool though.

Basically if I understand right, you can as developer code any rules for Leap Motion, so lets say, you code a rule that if it sees a shape of a gun, then it will find your trigger finger etc…

Maybe this one helps

That would be awesome. You could have a holsted hand gun + a shoulder strapped 2 handed weapon . I hate using two handed weapons with the touch controllers.

The v1 is mounted at eye level, I wonder how well the undermount of the v2 compares
