I believe You just have to contact Steam support and show them proof of purchase if it doesn’t show up in Your library…

Not sure how that would work but it sounds like You’ll have to contact Steam support anyway.
Maybe they’ll refund Your purchase or give You a key?

For me, as I already owned Half-life Alyx when I bought the knuckle controllers Steam refunded the price (however I did buy them direct).

Yeah. When they’re bought from Pimax they have no record of the purchase.

Then get your dad to show the purchase invoice to Steam to get the key on his steam account, not yours.
If Steam ask why it’s not his name, he can simply say you bought it for him as a gift.
Shouldnt really be a problem then
