this may give us an alternative if pitool is screwing with knuckles controllers
would be amazing if we could make oculus touch work with Pimax,
But i don’t see that happening…
Valve tracking with other headsets is possible with controllers & was demonstrated in the past with WMR using Vive Wands.
Oculus Touch could be possible if either Oculus opens using Touch Controllers without headset. Otherwise someone needs to hack a 3rdparty driver.
Actually theres no reason it couldnt be done if you owned both headsets. SteamVR already allows use of oculus headsets and camera. And as her video above clearly shows the two systems have no problem being active at the same time.
Im surprised nobody has done this already. SteamVR is open source no? Tats how AdvancedInputEmulator and OpenVRAdvanceed Settings were programmed.
All one would have to do is create a special Steam VR driver that would read the headset via basestations and use the oculus camera to read the ontroller. I know this is possible because i even used that special driver for the Razer Hydra back in the day.
At most you would have to synchronize the guardians. And the only catch is that you would have to go through steamVR.
Well stream/Valve is OpenVR but think like MP3 is licensed.
Opensource was OSVR.
But would have to read more up on the 2 paths.
If it comes at a reasonable price, I must buy it.
Interesting to see that with Oculus + Knuckles the fingers move, while Pimax + Knuckles the fingers are static, no skeletal animations (although the gestures work)
Seems, the big arches of the Pimax controllers will break down after just one session in BeatSaber. Some tasks of the new campaign are very traumatic.
yeah if you have to cross your hands in front of each other, they could smash into each other
I’d be very interested in a way to getting touch working on the Pimax. Even if it involves leaving the Oculus connected and there is a slight performance hit.
It is similar to the Pimax controller. Pimax should speed up the production of the Controller.
I will buy the Valve Knuckles or the Pimax controllers when either is released. But in the meantime it would be nice to have touch control with what I have laying around.
