Just rolled back to 1.1.92 and now both lenses are showing as offset

Hi all,

i have just rolled back to 1.1.92 from the latest version because of ghosting in right lenses and i saw another user having this issue and the rollback to 1.1.92 resolved it for them.

however, when i start any games like Elite Dangerous for instance, the image is there in both lenses but they are about an inch apart from each other? if i close me right eye the left image is at least an inch from where the right image is?

do i need to clear any config files or anything?

cheers

check if the headset is running in pimax or direct/extended mode.
Elite supports steam vr and should be running in pimax mode

Try deleting steamvr.vrsettings

Usual Location:

X:\Program Files\Steam\config

still no go guys. just tried again… uninstalled 1.1.92 completely, then reinstalled, also removed steamvr config as instructed. reinstalled 1.1.92.

I can see the pimax device, and can run steamvr from piplay. but everything in the steamvr space has 2 images? i have re ran room setup in steamvr as well… anything else i can try?

cheers

sorry forgot to mention…even in the steamvr white room waiting for something to start, the line with the arrow telling me center also has 2 lines, if i close 1 eye one of the lines disapear!

Strange, what about Extended Mode, is it also skewed?

just tried it… piplay switches to extended mode fine. and i can see the pimax P1 driver in my screen resolution page using 2560x1440 in portrait. but the HMD is just a blank screen. on 1.1.92 version do i need to install a vr player? as the latest version had kodi auto load.

ok… i got it working…

i had to make the piplay screen ‘set as default’ in my screen resolution page.

i then manually launched Kodi and played a movie. that movie seems fine. although the sides of the lenses seemed very blurred - it was defiantly clear in the center.

so it appears to be pimax mode or something on steam itself? as the steamvr room is also double lined?

Sounds like SteamVR is is acting up or Pimax’s Driver.

Do you also have Oculus Home Installed/Revive?

Grab LiveViewRift, it works in Extended Mode. If the image looks correct then it’s safe to ascertain SteamVR or the Pimax Driver may be causing an issue.

Hi CMM,

i dont have oculus home installed nor revive. when i use extended mode currently the image is fine so i do think its either steamvr or pimax driver, but the reason for me reverting to 1.1.92 is because everyone recommended me use that driver?

I do not know how to wipe Steamvr completely and then reinstall it, i have already deleted the steamvr.vrsettings as per the above recommendation. any one have any ideas how i proceed?

Thanks

OK, I have decided that I need to use the latest version… Re installed the latest and everything came right again. Go figure!

I will just use this version and hope that some of the ghosting/lateral drift issues are fixed in future updates.

Thanks all for your suggestions
