Is there a proper procedure for Pitool Room Set up, issues w height

In Stand Out VR if I drop a gun its below my reach, like my controller hits the floor before I can reach it.

In the Pitool “Room Set up”, the first step is Calibrate Your Space, easy enough, then the second step Locate The Floor is where its gets confusing. It tells you to Place the Headset on a stable surface and click the Calibrate button, Then measure the vertical distance between the surface and the floor and enter it below.
So if I do it in this order, it calibrates with nothing entered, WTF Pimax??

Are you supposed to enter the distance from surface to floor, then hit calibrate. I did this and Im not the correct height.

Is there a trick?

Thanks

Hi stixvr,
It’s been so long ago since I’ve had to run the Pitool room set up, but have you tried placing the hmd on the floor and entering 0 for height. I’m just guessing here since my memory doesn’t seem to want to help.

I honestly cant remember, but I just got through entering a different value so if that doesnt work Ill try putting it on the ground and entering 0 like you said. Thanks!

This was the ticket. I was just overthinking the procedure. So typing in 0 and laying the HMD on he floor worked, much thanks!

I’m going out on a limb here, it sounds like it’s a standing only setup procedure.

Edit: mistaken 3dof for standing only, dunno if controllers are calibrated in this preocedure because I never had any. Room scale does for sure and controllers need to be placed on the ground

Hello stixvr,
Saw your comment late last night just before logging out. Glad I was able to help and that the suggestion worked. I slept well knowing I helped at least one person that day. :older_man:
