If you opted to receive all the parts together in the Kickstarter survey then yes, you’ll have to wait until the lighthouses and controllers are ready before you’ll receive everything. If you opted to receive the headset separately (if you already have a Vive and the 1.0 tracking stations) then you’ll get the headset first to use with your existing gear and then the Pimax controllers and stations will ship later.

yeah i opted to wait. I dont have neither bases and controllers. just want to be sure if Q4 is the estimated for controlers and bases. if yes, i think will only receive mine in december because im one of the last backers :frowning:

I can understand that, business customers may be fewer, more localized and needed less various applications VR support/compatibility. If something goes wrong they can go on site and fix it you can’t do that easily with abroad customers

Hi Pimax sales/marketing team,

Most of the products will get delayed in development stages that is normal in any product’s life cycle. Since so many VR enthu people (and backers) are eager to experience 8k, it is Pimax responsibility to give some realistic release/shipping date (even though it is bit late). For me even if company says Dec2018 i am happy to wait because i feel Pimax 8K is big leap in VR history, i totally missed kickstarter event, please let me know when is pre-order campaign starts.

  • The NDA won’t be lifted until we believe the product is ready for customers.

This part is discouraging. That means possibly another 2 months of opaque development, with no hands on reports until just before the headset ships.

Pimax literally baited us with the testing made a big deal about it and hid any actual important information to the people who gave them money.

This hasn’t changed. They always said that the beta testing results would not be shared. The point of the beta test was to get external feedback, not to publish info prior to the public release.

The beta testing is a big deal, believe it or not. It may not give you any shocking news today, but it will definitely give you a better headset once it reaches your doorstep.

seeing some of the things mentioned in the update it is pretty clear you guys have been going to bat for all the users. clear from the update changes where some of sebastians initial frustrations may have lain too.

we all owe you folks a debt of thanks.

@destraudo thanks mate, I appreciate it  We will all benefit from this. And personally, despite having an m1 unit here, I cant wait until the day I receive my pledged 8K final units - as much as I do it for you, I do it for myself as well of course!

Just watched a portion of MRTV live,a major worry for me is the Nvidia partnership as I have a Vega 64 I really hope this does not effect myself as a AMD owner and they effectively tune the HMD for better performance to those nvidia cards.

Hopefully I’m just been a bit paranoid, other than that at least thing seems to be moving on Pimax’s end.

I wouldn’t be too stressed because pimax has other partners in the game and YES I do believe AMD is one of them as well. Just look on the kickstarter page they have a graphic with several Pimax Partners.

Any chance of backers to put into that group as well?

They partner both AMD and NVidia indeed. If there is anything to worry about AMD is the fact they need to finally launch something that is comparable with the best XX80 and XX80Ti nvidia cards. For the moment, its a one man show

Yes…AMD really needs to step up ! Hopefully they will because it’s good for all of us.

I’d pencil in a waiting time of at least a 3 month wait, maybe 6. This would bring us into December and mean all backers (even at the end of the queue) got their headsets within Q4 of 2018.

  o) … wtf

Are you allowed to tell us wether my 1070 laptop will be able to run games with 8k? Thinking on buying off a pledge, but not sure if I can run it!

@gumanoid123 The 1070 is minimum specification as you may know. If you ask me, for a Samsung Odyssey headset I would not recommend a GTX 1070 nor a GTX 1070 laptop. Not if you want a good overall VR experience in most VR games. You may be able to play all games on the Samsung Odyssey, but you will get lots of reprojection on most of them and some are unplayable. And we are still talking about the Samsung Odyssey here… use your imagination  Thats the only answer I can give you at this moment.
