Here is the original post about the 8KX at Gouda:
The 8KX won’t make an appearance at Gouda but the Vision Series 8K+ will be there.
For all the samples we have been crafting the special cables by hand and as a result they are very fragile and the cable from the new sample didn’t operate for very long.
The good news is our fully fabbed factory manufactured cables arrive for the first time Tuesday which solve the issues that revolved around the hand made cables. So the next meetings and events will indeed feature the X.

Okay guys, my slot at 11:30 will be available again for anybody who wants to give it a try, I will not make the trip just for the 8K+ as it would have meant to spend 5 hours in total in the car.
So no chance to address the whole base stations vs. controller delivery point and inquire about my double pledges under one account situation, too bad.
I just hope they wont send us the 8KX if it is not yet in good shape. I am not keen on receiving a fragile prototype.

Yep. And here I am working on Christmas decorations instead.
(I’m not native Dutch, so I don’t need to wait till Dec 6th

This all happens because they want to push people to order before the end of the year. I think it will be in everybody’s interest if the backer upgrade options are extended at least until the middle of 2020.

Jan 2020?.That does not give us time to see reviews about the 8kx so we can choose an upgrade plan before 31Dec2019…

Yep which is a major POS. @pimaxUSA any chance you can delay the 31st deadline for backers or allow to make their choices before then pay later? I assumed the deadline was in place so you knew backer intent.

They’re trying to get a couple of 8KX’s to Gouda in a few weeks.

Is there any indication when that would happen ? Rather in December or will it be in January ? (obviously they need to get them working first, but Kevin’s statement about the testing with the factory produced cables having been successful so far is encouraging).
As @SweViver told me, the target would be this year (actually before Christmas). After that, they would be too busy with CES preparations. VTSpace just announced a VR event on December 23, but it’s not clear if there will be an 8KX present. I am trying to get confirmation, will let you know.

More info on a future 8KX event in Gouda. I asked if an 8KX would be present at their event on 23 December, and this was the response I got:
“I can only hope and assume. That said … as soon as we have 8KX sets in-house we will launch an exclusive 8KX-VR-Party and people that attendended our last Pimax event will receive invites through mail. Including koffie and a stroopwafel :)”
