Import Commodity Code for EU

Hi

I’m planning to buy a Pimax 4k next week and cannot find the EU import Commodity Code for the headset package. I live in the EU and need to know if I buy an import from outside the EU what charges (if any) I should expect to pay in addition to the applicable VAT.

Please advise.

Hi Charly, sorry, I poorly know the custom or your local policy, you’d better communicate with the vendor you want to buy from directly.

Maybe some guys from EU could give you a positive reply later.

Use the normal air-mail shipping at gearbest, best chances of getting it in without any additional charges. As soon as you use DHL/Feddex, it will absolutely pass through customs and you’ll get taxed on the items. Those taxes depend on your country, but probably will be around 21%.

Yeah i know with Canada DHL seems to add $25 Canadian.

Pimax 4k @ $400 ca DHL customs $25.xx
2 Pla filaments approx $75 ca DHL +$25
Waiting on 3d printer $489 ca suspect another +$25

Contacting DHL express in your area might be able to give you a price for your region for customs.

I should add that… in the EU in 2016 certain kinds of electronics were made exempt from import duties… VAT is still payable… however I’m trying to discover if VR headsets are in the group of electronics that were made duty tax exempt on import. Thank you.

a good idea on contacting DHL @Heliosurge … they could help.

Your welcome. Figured if anyone can give you at least a ball park on fees the courier should be able.

I sent an email to DHL online and received a telephone call back… I was told the VAT is 19% and the tax and duties would be 1% as the price is over 150eur. I’m hoping that’s true! This is for the EU if correct.

you should of asked them to send it to you via email so you have it in writing when the item arrives and is not as per their price… you wont have any way to prove what they said!

Very good advice. Eno!

I agree @Enopho & @Heliosurge if I do decide to order from China I think I’ll do that before. I may buy from UK to make sure that if there is any guarantee problem it’s sorted faster and cheaper however. Depends on the price difference at the time. Thank you for the help!

good idea Charly, but you might want to make sure that ‘buying from the UK may not actually mean shipped from the UK’. if you do want to make sure that it comes from the UK, maybe ask Pimax who their re-seller for UK is and if they have warehouse stock in that country… otherwise you might order from a UK seller and it be sent from China for instance.

Yes I would try to make sure of that.
