Nice stuff about PP zoom fix but I think I’ll still need lefufu mod for better colors. If devs will allow me to adjust colors palette in settings I will play more on MP servers. Adjusting saturation in Pitool helps a bit but it doesn’t solve the case with washed-out / imerssion killer LCD colors
You would think developers would enjoy any fix that helps the IL2 VR be better.
This is where I noticed the Alternative View System is better in VR. More saturated colour palate and man are the alternate plane skins nice when seen in such.
Agreed.
It is one thing to hound small developers but crickets when it comes to the big boys with huge budgets that are supposedly pushing VR.
With the resources the smaller developers have, they put the larger development houses to shame and it is a pity they haven’t the public exposure that they deserve.
Now in Il2 we have plane spotting and PP free Zoom fix which are both great. There are other things to work on but it is a constant process and gratefully, when something gets updated, all the series benefit from it.
LOL, only VR flight sims get my money!!! IL2 is for sure one of them, I even pre order new stuff just to support VR and I let them know that.
what you mean ? I’ve never heard about Alternative View System or maybe this is “enhanced visibility” checkbox under difficulty?
That’s the one, under “Realism” settings in the Mission Screen. Try it and see if it helps with richer colours - not huge but things seem more vivid colour wise.
That is a single-player setting.
IL2 is on sale right now !!!Good time to buy something if you don’t already have it!
Really, seems pretty available as a server side setting for Multiplay Co-Op or Dogfight.
What would I know compared to a learned gent as your self though??
The one that runs the server can chamge and add anything they want, the rest of us can’t change much.
So - host your own server then. If people like your settings and game play - then it will be populated.
Fact remains - it is not just a Single Play Setting.
To say otherwise is dishonest for the community both here and Il2.
Lol, I’m good just pointing out server side controls the settings :}
I haven’t touched online yet, only single player there is so much content I have only scratched the surface.
Coop stuka dive bombing missions with real people would be nice.
I wish there was more fine-grain comms.
I miss all the radio comm options in IL2 1946, BoX is lacking in that department but the BFM on the AI itself is alright.
The formation speed is insane though, there is no simple option to tweak it to something more reasonable without getting close to burning your engine out if you fall behind.
I hope they make a Pacific theatre campaign, aircraft carrier landing was intense.
I bought the 8kx solely for this game, bass shakers and voice attack are a match made in heaven for this game.
Check out either Discord or SRS for online comms. Not sure if they have SRS working for VR yet - last time I checked there were overlay issues but that was a couple months back.
Would love a Pacific Add-on too or even Manchuria late war with a combo of Soviet forces through North China tackling the Japanese and then the last of the Island Hops for USN forces. Then there are the South Pacific campaigns just North of Australia which would be interesting. There were some issues with researching Japanese Documents but I know that it is a wish of Jason’s for some Pacific content to happen.
Check out FC in VR too - it is slow as heck to get anywhere but once in combat - you are whirling around like nothing else. Have to be a bit more sharp on the gunnery too.
I might give il2 1946 BAT another shot in the future, I already have vorpx. I wish il2 cliffs of Dover also had native VR support.
BAT mod had an insane amount of content but vorpx sucked, I couldn’t tweak it to a decent level even if my life depended on it. Tried it for a short while in the past on a vive 1.
Already spoilt by BoX flight model and engine management.
That and I could not use software like simshaker to enhance bass shaker haptic feedback.
All these years and they are still pushing updates to il2 1946 mods, they had one recently for Graff Zeppelin and the folding wing stukad that never got off the drawing board.
My dream ww2 flightsim would basically be BoX with DCS level of fine grain control hotas and leap motion hand tracking (similar to vtolVR) so I don’t need to bind many buttons whilst being more immersive and intuitive.
Along with covering all the major theatres from early war to late war, scaling well with a large number of cores 8+ and being able to see infantry and armour duke it out but that would be insanely costly and you won’t see much of the action up high anyways unless you want to get shot down by small arms fire.
The scope would be too huge for a small team, 1946 hit the right level of complexity to be able to support such a huge amount of content with a massive amount of units in comparison.
