Since I never got a reply to my problem I dug deeper my self…
My initial report was:
8K with AMD 5700 XT gives 10935 error. (#19,260)
Status:
Reported on

I won’t paste what I said in the report as I’m sure rest of my questions will get answered one day…
But I do want my loaner device working ASAP. I have been with a broken 8K since the 5700 XT was released. Very disappointing to say the least.
I think this is the real problem, DFU mode is not available unless I do the 3 button trick and then flashing it does not resolve anything.
The device just tells me to connect HDMI/DP cable.
I don’t know how or when exactly my device turned into a 5K one but I am sure it was after getting the Radeon 5700 XT, since it worked fine with a RTX 2070. I just remember trying a newer version of Pitool after getting the Radeon 5700 XT because it was not working like for some others, which did update the firmware, most likely something happened then.
If you need the serial number you can get it from my report.

Updating to the latest pitool 197 which did update the firmware automaticly (no button tricks needed)
Also it does give me an error about the Radeon driver version. But I have tried earlier drivers which did not give that error and it still did not work.

This is a problem with Pimax AMD compatibility.
@Heliosurge can tell you more.

As your aware the amd 5700 cards have been having difficulties with pimax headset.
You mentioned a 2070 do you by chance still have it? As you could use it to test.
Otherwise on the strange firmware update I would also recommend filing a support ticket on both issues.
If you have filed post ticket number & @Doman.Chen can likely assist you.
Okay, made another ticket just for the device description being wrong. #20,289
The first ticket I created with other questions and also it not working with the 5700 XT. #19,260
I did return the RTX 2070 already so can’t test that.
Thank you.

Your welcome. Recently @PimaxUSA revealed they recently added 5700 to their amd line up & may have some new input on it.
