I got my rtx 3090 today,i got very low scores with the openvr benchmark with the pimax 8kx

I got my rtx 3090 today, but i get very low scores with the openvr benchmark…
Is this right or must there be something wrong?

Also i have reprojection (ghosting)when i wave my guns or hands with certain games on the exact spot where my rtx2080ti also had those reprojection contractors with the highest graphics settings unplayable just as on my rtx2080ti,so i needed to chose high graphics and high antialiasing instead of highest.

Is it because of the games,or must there be something wrong?
i tried contractors

VR Bench in this 2xFPS region are normal for Pimax Headsets.
The render resolution in the bench is almost four times higher than in the potato league.
But, my OCed 2080ti makes nearly the same score, if I remember right.

thx for your reply,

But what about : i have reprojection (ghosting)when i wave my guns or hands with certain games on the exact spot where my rtx2080ti also had those reprojection contractors with the highest graphics settings unplayable just as on my rtx2080ti,so i needed to choose high graphics and high antialiasing instead of highest.

By the way, pitools at 1 and steam at 100% normal field off view

I have nothing to say about that. I know. ghosting only in upscale mode above 110Hz.
This is due to the panels, as they are extremely run over, but they are working on it

soooo, my old bench with 25FPS comes from the old 8k.
Have tried a new test with the X and nearly the same resolution as you. (you have not used Pitool1 and 100%Steam right?)

I must say, wow, the 3090 9900k Combination is great for VR! I am really impressed.
Here my 2080ti OC2100, 7700k 5GHz

@john2910 please, can you make a test with following settings?!

Nativ 75HZ, FOV Normal, Hidden Mask on, Parallel Projection off, Smartsmooth off
Pitool 1.5, Steam SS 20%

with this settings i run not in CPU Limit, so we can compare a little bit better the GPU Power.
Thanks

Thank you… but, yeah, the 3090 is really a round 20% improvement at lower VR resolutions.
Impressed…

I lost a little bit of track …Can you sum up the results .
How much is the 3090 faster than a 2080 ti with the exact same settings in fps ?

You can only find exact values on the same computer. Too many components, SSD, Ram, CPU, Steam Configs., Windows services in the background.
Also, for other potato HMDs, you can use automatic settings.
But. For Pimax HMDs this settings are not useable. The resolution is four times higher, so every cpu on this world, run in the limit.

A. nearly useful data are the last two images.
2080ti /7700k 40,5FPS vs.
3090 / 9900k 57 FPS (but, also faster CPU, faster ram)

@john2910 Which RTX 3090 GPU did you get?

Gigabyte rtx 3090 eagle oc

Ah yes, you got the cheapest card which may have a lower power limit than other brands. Have you tried any manual overclocking with it?

The EVGA FTW3 Ultra I backordered has 440W power limit.

No i have not yet tried to overclock it,wich program would be the best?

I’m not sure, check the Gigabyte website. Before you do that though. Can you run UserBenchMark.com and post a link to your results? It’ll help diagnose if a part on your system is possibly creating a bottleneck.

But we all have learned in the last week, Overclocking is for the 30xx not a really good idea

Actually, I saw livestream on Team EVGA channel where they did some overclocking benchmarks on FTW3 Ultra card with 3D mark Port Royal and they reached just above 2000Mhz boost clock and 450W of power consumption.
