I got my 5k+ today. The sweet spot is IMPOSSIBLE to get without holding the headset upwards with my hands...anyone else? any solution..?

I wear glasses first off, and I also installed the Deluxe Audio Strap to the pimax too. The sweet “positional” spot is SO small…i have to keep holding the headset vertically upwards to make everything clear (oh and it is SUPER clear and sharp when i do that thankfully), but as soon as i let go off the headset, it goes 1-3 mm down and it becomes blurry…i really don’t know what to do. Anyone else been in my position too? how did you fix this? how do you keep the headset from not coming down vertically?

I tried without glasses and it would stay in the sweet spot, but my eyes are very bad and i can’t see a thing without glasses lol. So those without glasses i assume they don’t have this problem

Try thickening the face foam so you can have it tighter on the face. Peal n stick foam with velcro is one option. Others have doubled up with other facr cushions.

You can also change the length of all the straps. A shortening should increase the position of the hmd vertically.

User the thicker strap foam, you can try to user other foam to insert instead.

Watchout when pulling the facemask off, mine pulled the glued velcro off and didn’t stick back so now I need some super glue or something

can you elaborate on this please? which strap are you talking about specifically and how do you shorten it…?

I am also glasses wearer and what I found helps is having the central strap so long, it goes below the back of my head, then have the side straps slightly tighten, but not much, to keep the central strap on the head. First I find the comfortable position with the side straps and then tighten the central strap to have the exact height of the headset in front of me.

In this setup the headset is mainly hold by the central strap and is not to pressing much (or at all) at face. This might be a disadvantage (or advantage) depending on how you use it.

I thought I was the only one unlucky to have such a strong velcro strap. Luckily I did not pull it off completely, so now I just have to be super careful to not “pull it off”

The pimax has 3 headbands, I mean the shortening of the middle upper.

should be possible to 3dmodell the plastic facecover frame thats under the foam
and make it adjusteble focus adjusted and tilt and then 3dprint it , what you think of that idea ?

I hope you were just kidding, DON’T try to glue it back with the common superglue (cyanoacrylate) since it wont stick with most of the plastics well, you might end up making a mess.

Can’t do either because i said in the post, i installed the deluxe audio strap…why did people suggest this i regret buying and installing it so much…

Well in hindsight offered my cheapskate option.

Thickening the foam should work though.

Will try using different foams, hopefully that fixes it

This sounds like an awesome idea, only thing is I do not think 3D printing does movable parts good?

I found the DAS was a major improvement, so just want to make sure you know the knob at the back of the DAS rotates to adjust the length of the side straps, the top support is velcro just like the standard straps.

So rotate the knob to loosen the sides, put the headset on and hold it where you find it clearest, use your other hand to make sure the DAS sits on the LOWER back of your skull, tighten the knob, then pull the top velcro tight and stick it down to support the weight of the headset.

You can 3dprint a scissor jack without printing items seperate.

I have glasses and my sweet spot huge no blur.

it can be done whit simple gear on each side 2 parts
