I am actually awaiting the introduction of curved screens in VR to get rid off a lot of the disadvantages of the modern lens design. That would allow the build to be compact, lenses to be lighter/thinner and the acuity to be greater due to less warping required.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Apple be the first company to push these, and wipe the floor with the competition (for the targeted market, which unfortunately won’t be VR enthusiasts).
I must say this was the best experience i had with this game on the vive pro 2…
It has to do with the color and the blacks on the vive pro 2 panels…
Also i have my settings now on ultra in the vive console and only 74% steam sampling…With these settings i have still a clear picture and some headroom in performance on a rtx3090…
For me this game was the best experience on the vive pro 2,second the g2,third the pimax 8kx…
This is something that’s hard to get your head around when I comes to VR. In the early days with the CV1, SS was the way to go. If you could push 120 upwards the images would be quite usable.
With the newer HMDs turning down the SS isn’t actually a bad thing it’s just we’re so used to pushing it upwards.
Too bad it didn’t work out for your @Axacuatl. Hoping to receive my vp2 before the end of the week and hoping I’m going to like it as much as @john2910 can’t wait to try it
Agreed it’s just too much of a mixed bag to justify the price. Seeing as how Valve developed the lenses on the G2 I have to believe there will be an Index refresh coming along shorty. That would probably be the best headset, all things considered.
Wow if it’s hard to tell a difference then you must have something wrong with Vive Pro 2. Difference in terms of sharpness is huge and index got no match to VP2 so I don’t know how you can have similar picture.
@Decapper evaluation part 2 VP2 vs 8kX on r/pimax. Good evaluation of pros and cons in his xp of both headsets. @PimaxVR@PimaxQuorra some good points on how to make 8kX stronger.
