Thanks! I did watch this video. i did get it to work today and it seems I can only get it to playback in 60fps. I wanted to try to tweek it to 90 fps, I thought there was another or maybe a written tutorial regarding the different settings in SVP, like setting different fps outputs and tweeking other settings in SVP app??

Hmm strange, it’s actually not that complicated.
Have you set up reclock as well?
If the reclock icon turns green it’s the right setting, if it is red you need to manually adjust it and set to 30. (For VR always make sure it’s on 30, even if footage is 24 or 25)
If you play eg 30fps footage make sure to choose “x3” or “fixed 90” in SVP, as “match refresh rate” may refer to your monitors refresh rate, probably 60, instead of your HMD.
You can PM me any question and I’ll try to help.

Reclock… Oh gosh I remember the good old times playing around with reclock to get smooth framerates matching the Hz on my home cinema projectors. I have to add that reclock is a nice tool if you know what you are doing. If not, it can completely screw up things and its hard to revert back. So be careful using it

Did you get a device containing a cable clip?
The screen is not flashing?
Don’t hang up?

They made a new revision I read in a netherlands forum:

Hi Markus,
Yes, finally some good news!
We are expecting them end of this week/early next week. And they are of the new revision, so all the old issues should be fixed now. Just a little more patience.
Kind regards/Met vriendelijke groet/Mit freundlichen Grüßen

You need to install - Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR
Press and hold the thumbstick.

That‘s the statement from Klaas from De Rekenwinkel. Indeed HP seems to be shipping out the new revision finally.

Seems it used to be good old times many ages ago
There is actually nothing to be careful about, you can activate/deactivate reclock to work on a per-app basis, so it won’t interfere with other software where you don’t like to use it.
The only thing that may happen is that eg. 24fps footage may be stretched to 30 when using (in my case) a 75Hz monitor, Rendering the whole idea useless+introducing artifacts. But it will be indicated through reclock icon showing red. Simply click on it adjust to 25 (since 75 is best dividable by 25) and the icon will show green=set up properly.

Sorry for this being off-topic. I’ll create another thread for that.
For anyone beeing interested what SVP actually does just check that video on a 60Hz screen.
It’s just a comparison that demonstrates quickly. Yes, it’s… youtube… probably many conversions going on but it really shows the difference. If you can’t see it…not everybody actually is able to see it/or cares… this ain’t for you.

Compared to the Index the reverb is very dull in colors…
And the FOV is so small I measured 88 degrees in ROV test tool…Worse than og rift…
But the resolution… Man its amazing…

Hey Nuke. Maybe try @risa2000 hmdq tool I imagine he would like to have stats if your willing to share Reverb & Index to his collection.

I wil check it out tomorrow,

Yeah that FoV is just bad eh. But indeed, the resolution is stunning. I couldn’t really use the index due to my IPD. What’s your IPD? And you own the index too? How do you feel they compare?

My IPD is 68.5, I used the registry hack to set it to this value.
I feel just a little discomfort after using it for a while like +30 minutes. But not that “cross eyed” feeling…
But I cant use any HMD for more than 1 hour either my eyes get tired or it starts to be too uncomfortable…

  • First of all the Reverb feels like FullHD vs the Index less than 720p

  • The Reverb is very sharp in the center but only there, other parts of the view are kind of blurry

  • The Reverb has very VERY dull colors

  • Dont know how to express that correctly but I have the feeling that the Reverb has some “gravitation hole” in the center (if I move my head slowly from side to side I see this, kind of unstable

  • The Index has a similar problem like the “gravitation hole” but much less and only if I wear it too low

Overall I prefer the Index, though the resolution is a big step down for me…

Yeah I know, the 2k*2k resolution is just SO nice. But with only such small FoV and without IPD adjustment I don’t think it could ever become my favourite hmd

I agree. Ive really tried to get used to Reverb. My eyes cant make it. And thats on top of all other problems… This headset was kind of a waste of money for me, but I will keep it for “science” and future comparisons.
