Help to reset horizontal view

I am pretty sure there used to be a setting in HMD but I cannot find it ? I still awaiting my
LH’s so have to do a room setup but for some reason all of a sudden the view is all over
the place.
How can I reset please,I have made sure the LH’s are unticked .

View has turned 180 degree’s

TIA
@PimaxQuorra @Heliosurge

Are you facing your PC?

Have you tried Right Clicking Pitool Icon. There should be a Recenter option. Some games and steamvr have a reset view as well.

G’day Helio, tried the right click on the icon,no luck the view is now 90 degree’s off
horizontal !! and looking at the floor (trying in IL2 Sturmovik) which I have used for
a few years ,

Okay you mean pic is rotated 90° like going from landscape to portrait?

There was a Horizon calibration; but haven’t used it. Might be under Hmd in pitool. Will need to have a look

No it’s only level if I literally hold the Hmd perpendicular the view is then level

Is this only in IL2 Sturmovk or other titles?

If only in IL2 then might be a game specific setting that needs tweaking

This is the same in all games,it was working fine and I have’nt changed any pitools
it seems as if the gyro is out of kilter or something.

It is quite possible. I think I recall someone else having an issue like this. But not sure if it was put in @Davebobman’s wiki.

Give me a moment will find s link to it.

Here is the link. Will start to take a look. But might be an idea to start a ticket.

Okay took a quick scan of the wiki and didn’t see a solution. But am pretty sure I recall someone else having a similar issue.

@skellum
Which pitool version are you using?
The one from December is said to fix some problems with the gyro.

Skellum there is a temporary solution; add open advanced settings in steam, then in it set angle offset for hmd.
In steam check open advanced settings start every time as layer, and that can be permanent.
You will need to open Steam every time for that to work, not only steam vr.
PS: I was using that to correct vive wands angle in some games
Edit: or it was openvr input emulator? I am not sure now

Hi BrziJoe
First I could not open “advance setting’s” in Steam. At the moment I have tried
various setup’s either on the floor ,sitting Hmd on table, facing away from the normal position I sit in,it comes out the same image 90 degree’s off centre.
To get the view to look correct on my monitor I have to physically hold the Hmd with my
left hand, holding the left side high and letting the right side drop perpendicular, with lenses facing forward, then rotate90 degree’s to the left Voila!! I have a correct view
To me this looks like a corrupt setup file somewhere I have put in a ticket with the response being it my setup, well I have tried all ways to zero success.
Thanks for Trying mate

“Open advanced settings” is one powerful overlay program, you need to download it, install, and enable in steam first.

Second program is openvr input emulator: GitHub - matzman666/OpenVR-InputEmulator: An OpenVR driver that allows to create virtual controllers, emulate controller input, manipulate poses of existing controllers and remap buttons. A client-side library that communicates with the driver via shared-memory is also included.

Downloaded both programs but do not know how to use them ?

There’s a newer version (fork) here (the original is outdated/dead):

download, install, then open steam, then steam vr.
I think there is a setting there to enable those 2 overlays? Not sure now.
Then put your hmd on, and press steamvr dashboard key on controller. You will see that those programs are added to dashboard (Belt like half circle in front of you). click it and explore options.
Maybe google a little, or check some youtube videos, those programs are powerfull.
