Has Pimax sent Jason and the IL-2 dev team a Pimax HMD like they did for ED/DCS?

If not, they need too.

@PimaxUSA do you know if communication with Jason Williams of 1C Game Studios has taken place? Should he be told to reach out to you?

They the ones who develop Sturmovik?

Yep. A very good idea indeed!

Yes that is indeed a popular game. If you know them or have contact with them my email is pimaxusa@pimaxvr.com and if they contact I’ll see if we can get them into the dev program. Would love to have them in there.

Sounds great! I will drop them an email tonight or tomorrow!

But…

Sorry for shamelessly hijacking the thread. What about S397, developer of rFactor 2? I could provide you with their contacts. Thanks for the consideration.

They are a merger of 1C (Sturmovick) studios and 777 studios (Rise of Flight fame). They recently brought ROF into the game engine calling it the Flying Circus campaign. Flying WW1 in VR is truly an experience.

Thanks @SweViver. I think it would be good for them to have access to one to help perhaps improve the experience. Who knows, maybe they could find a way to eliminate the need for PP in their game engine having one on hand to work with.

Their Tank Crew sim with the Pimax is freakin amazing. That wide FoV and clarity is a blast in VR. Of course same for Flying Circus and their base IL-2 as well.

Thanks for the assist.

I’d love to see the development team obtain one for development - Il2 is the reason I purchased your product mainly. Thank you for considering it.

I’m waiting for Flying Circus to flesh out, can’t play ROF without VR anymore. No PP needed would be really a great thing.

@PimaxUSA

Yes, they develop the Il2 Sturmovic Battle of Stalingrad Series of sims and have a very good VR implementation. They are currently developing a Western Front scenario as well as Flying Corps (WW1 Western Front) and Tank Crew which focuses on the Kursk Tank Battle.

I have been giving feedback on the Pimax 8K over there for people to see and it would be nice for Pimax and 1C/777 to team up together for the upcoming Flight Sim Expo 2019.

Jason Williams is the production manager there and it would be great for further development. Currently Il2 requires Parallel Projection Compatibility. If this could be eliminated - the sim would probably gain 30+% improvement in performance on Pimax headsets. Regardless, the wide FOV and capabilities of the Pimax headsets suit this title very well.

I´m playing IL2 BoX (X is for Stalingrad, Moscow and Kursk) on a dayly basis. With my 5k Plus it is even now very enjoyable because of the clearity and the wide FOV. I would really appreciate it if the game ran without PP to have even more performance for higher graphics settings.

Hi,
Maybe they should also consider Austin Meyer, creator of X-Plane.
After all, X-Plane is now the most widely used flight simulator, according to the latest survey. Even ahead of P3D and FSX.

Maybe start a new thread on X-Plane and keep this one for Il2 BoS sim. Just a thought so that it keeps threads on topic and non polluted.
