My question is are the pimax lens shape similar to the vive or the rift? and has anyone ever tried vr labs lenses?

I use them for my Vive. They won’t work on Pimax due to its proprietary lens frame shape and size. Come to think of it, all manufacturers as far as I can tell use different lens frame shape. I’ve contacted them and they said that they don’t have any plans for Pimax.
Can’t blame them. No one has heard of Pimax, their marketing have their hands full doing parties and such instead of promoting the brand.
Thanks for telling me. Glad i held off
Yeah as I don’t wear glasses myself. I’d wait or try one of the users diy 3dprinted jobies(if those whom tried it give good reports)
No idea about those frames, they look pretty small and might fit withing the HMD but i cant recall seeing someone mentioning them specifically.
There are reports that the prescription lenses sold by the same company are good.

Glad to be of help! Speaking from experience, on Vive, I am good without prescription lenses but admittedly the visuals are better with them so here’s hoping Pimax will have theirs available soon.
Just to be clear youre talking about the frame version right? Im not talking about the lens insert.
Oh sorry, never tried that one. I’ve only tried out the inserts.
Hows the lens? Is it comparable to your glasses?
Honestly it’s quite hard to tell, because I suffer from both myopia and hypermetropia, without glasses I can still see rather well in most games since most games don’t really render very far distances due to poly budget and texture memory limitations but for close up objects or objects you put bring close to your view then the difference is noticeable though not to the point where you can’t play without prescription lenses.
Thanks guess ill jump on it and be the scape goat.
I just ordered RX sport goggles from Zenni instead of these. They will take a few weeks to get here so I can’t report yet. I was getting ready to buy the ones that you linked but I saw a youtube review that stated that they basically don’t stay in position on your face and aren’t very comfortable. That plus the price turned me off. The zenni ones came to like 60 dollars shipped after a few added options.
Oh wow nice let me know how it is. Still didnt order yet. Ill be waiting for your feedback
Sounds good! I’m worried that they might be too bulky but I guess we’ll find out!
I bought Ben Franklin style frames similar to these. https://www.amazon.ca/Computer-Glasses-Radiation-Protection-Eyeglasses/dp/B07TFMLPW6/ref=sr_1_32?keywords=cool+clip+glasses+frames&qid=1564842457&s=gateway&sr=8-32
Took my 5K+ to Walmart for the fitting. They fit into the headset nicely. The frames I selected appear a little small on my face but since they are for VR only, it is the function that is important.
I got the frames in way earlier than expected. Unfortunately they are way too bulky to even fit in the headset I have another idea, though, and I can still use the glasses for a different project. Will report back if my new idea works.
This is the solution I came up with. I bought some cheap Zenni glasses and modified them using some super glue, flush cutters, a hacksaw, and a couple pieces I milled out off aluminum round stock. I just made them, and haven’t tested yet but it looks good.
Users come up with these hacks (lense frames, face cushions, deluxe strap, software etc.) because Pimax can not deliver as promised.
Yeah this mod took me one night in the basement . It only cost me like 25 dollars and a few hours labor. You would think Pimax could make a lens adapter easily enough as promised.
