Are you confirming the HT is finally ready?

Will the Hand tracking function properly on a usb 2 port or be very restricted like the ET?

Hello,

The downgrade coupon is invalid for the hand tracking.

The hand tracking is expected to be online by end of September, the exact date will be announce shortly.

If you place an order on this module, you can always request the shipment plan with our support team, they will provide assistance and schedule the shipment.

Sincerely,
Quorra.Pimax

Sorry but doesn’t even reflect your own information on this site, hand tracking is included on the list on available items for downgrade coupon at point 7 of update 23.07.2020. The actual list price of the HT is 169$. Could you please recheck this information.

Hello,

Sorry for the mistake.
It should be valid to use the downgrade coupon to purchase the HT module.

Since the ET module has issues due to usb 2 on earlier headsets rather than the usb 3 specs. Will the hand tracker have an external usb-c port to fix this for connecting?

Has there been any progress on fixing this deviation in the headset specs?

Don’t forget HT board is made by Ultraleap, same design has 2016 from what I can see. Pimax just do the casing and support the product. And from a design point of vu it’s not the module that is supposed to have a decent hub it’s the headset. And by the way it’s clearly not practical to add a UBS 3.0 hub on the module because of power requirement & space requirement. In one year or so this will be irrelevant Pimax will have a new headset on the market…

Your point remain very valid because it’s ask the question is the HT is working well on a 5K+ for example. ;-^

Not asking for a hub. Though that could be useful. But an addition connector to use an external usb-c usb 3 port like the ET has. A hub would be simple to add later to it and was mentioned by pimax to later add a pass through as the 8kX has only 1 port

And how do yo do this with out a new board revision and if you do not use a HUB you make 2 version of the HT module? Y connections are not possible with USB. The only easy way would be to place a angle connector that redirected the strait one. The would mean more space between the headset and the module and a different vision angle…

Or a switch with a side usb-c port. The ET has a side port as the 8kX has no top port to use. So a switch would be needed to turn top connector off on HT to use the side port.

If a spacer is used you can offset the HT as another user has mentioned from the og Leap module during calibration.

Either way usb 2 with everything in the headset is not a good idea as per og headsets that used usb 2 without extra modules.

Ultra high frequency on USB3.0 mechanical not really feasible. no easy solution here those things have to be designed & planned! ;-/ The best way would be a space but again another cable beurk

A switch is quite feasible. Especially since the early headsets modularity is compromised by deviating from the ks specs.

A side port for a proper usb 3 like the ET or spacer with offset options to HT position will be needed unless one is considering not using LH tracking with HT.

Did someone try the 8K port to see if it’s USB3.0?

The 8k port is usb 2 like the 5k. It has a usb 2 cable to pc and pimax confirmed non 8kX headsets are usb 2. Only one that might not be otherwise is the 8k+. However it shares the same all in one cable so it is unlikely to be usb 3 either.

If you examine a usb 3 cable connector you will see extra connectors near the front of the cable. Usb 2 only has 1 set.
