Look at the graphics.

If this game needs PP On, we’re doomed.

Given that the index has PP permanently enabled who knows… you’d hope the only other major manufacturer of a canted lens HMD would have the game engine work without it but I have my doubts. This and the FF7 remake demo today, woo!

Thank god, at first I thought it would be a teleport locomotion, luckily it seems to also have free Loco like towards the end of the last video.
But sure looks good

Heh, feel kind of better today, about the relative civility between VR-enthusiasts debating locomotion options, after watching a gameplay demonstration video the other day, on the new Baldur’s Gate, and noticing the turn-based-or-not troll war in the chat window that went with the broadcast… and that was the ā€œgoodā€ feed option, with the worst behaviour supposedly filtered out. :stuck_out_tongue:

The day nears that VR enthusiasts Jones over and flat gamers loath. This game would be crippled without free locomotion imho and graphics as well as gameplay seem like we never left the Halflife world even 20 years later. Hats off to Valve, I can’t wait for this epic continuation of the story.

I am so hyped for this game.

Yeah, me too, but I’ll have to be content with the videos.

I don’t have an area suitable for standup VR (only seated). Plus, I’d have to spend ~$500 for Index controllers and a second base station.

You should still be able to play seated though

On the steam page it says seated, standing or room scale

I get triggered when people use teleportation to play. Clearly shows he never played vr If he gets sick.

Those graphics are incredible! I REALLY hope the Pimax doesn’t require PP to be on.

Normally, i hate spoilers of any kind. I can disagree with ā€œSheldon Cooperā€ on this. In this instance, I can consent to allow my mind to be pre-blown.
As one who values the importance of controllers as much as the game, moving from Touch to ICs was the next must have for me. That they included the next must have VR title, as well. is so sweet.

Yeah, I just skipped around briefly here and there to not spoil anything. It looks absolutely incredible. We Pimax users will be in for a serious treat! Is anyone else here an oldschool HL, TF, or CS fan?

True, but I’d have to spend ~$500 for controllers and another base station.

It’s entirely possible that I’ll play Alyx one day, since I’m a big fan of Half-Life, but now is not the time to spend more money on VR (since I just bought an 8KX).

Also, my priorities are set: First, a 3080; second, a racing setup to permanently mount my steering wheel and such. I’m sure I’d play AC and other driving games a lot more, if it were easier to setup. I love my quick-mount HOTAS. It mounts in less than a minute, but my steering wheel is far more fiddly.

I’ll be playing on the one basestation that I’ve been using on all types of games for the last year.
