Hi Enopho
Where do I find this magnetic calibration thingy
Not sure if new piplay has the manual tool (haven’t d/led new 1 yet)
But i believe piplay version 1.2.93 in settings device is where its at.
Hi Spoony,
if you have the latest beta drivers then launch it, bottom right of piplay is a small cog icon. click that then click on device tab. there is a magnetic calibration there. you need to move the hmd is a swirling motion up/down and then sweep it left and right is a figure 8 shape. that calibrates the giro.
then to get a center, i use steamvr as i find piplay center not as effective.
open steamvr and click display mirror… then click on the mirror and then when looking forward press Z. that should set the forward position.
Hope this helps.
Eno
Cheers Enopho
I have 1.2.97 and there’s no cog at the bottom.
I have just downloaded raceroom race experience ( ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN BRILLIANT, and it’s free ) but the drift is really bad. I have to re centre every couple of seconds.
Do you know where I could find a link to 1.2.93 ( without the virus ) I have read this version has a manual configuration tool.
Oh, I tried the re centre on the steam mirror but to no avail.
so you were able to recenter via steam and it didnt work or it did not center when you were looking at the mirror? If Pimax have dropped the 1.2.93 i still have a copy of it (without virus) I can pop it on a web host if you like?
But have you tried the latest version 2.0.x that also has manual calibration? - sorry should of said the cog on 1.2.93 is on the top right… the cog is on the bottom right for 2.2.x latest version.
Let me know if you want me to pop 1.2.93 online somewhere and i will do it tomorrow night for you.
Cheers.
Eno
Thanks so much.
Do I have to look somewhere in particular to find the 2.x version.
I got the 1.2 97 from the top of the forum.
Unfortunately you would have to step me through how to get the 1.2.93 from you as I am a little dense with tech.
Thanks again.
Oh just another bit of help if you wouldn’t mind. What settings do you use for elite dangerous
Hi spooney,
For the 2…x version just use the search on this forum and type 2.0 it will be the 1st link
My settings for ED will be different to yours as I use a 1080ti dedicated vr graphics card with a core i7 processor and 24gb of memory, so my machine is a high end gaming pc.
But it’s always best to set the render in piplay to 1.0 to start with and then set the in game setting to vr low, then slowly increase the PiPlay render slider until your game starts to struggle… When it does lower the render I notch and play with that.
No need to change the supersampling in steamvr anymore as pimax have their own render and don’t use steams on the later versions of piplay
Eno
Thanks. I’ll give it a try tomorrow
Hi all, same problem here, I try to calibrate my pimax but the screen is always inclined… someone found a solution that don’t need to phisically touch the pimax?
Hi, can we use Teamviewer when you’re available? Just pm your ID & Password of Teamviewer to me in forum or send it to support@pimaxvr.com, thanks.
Hi all, I have the same problem, is it possible solution with a firmware update?
I have PiPlay v2.0.7.54 and firmware v1.0.0.256
