Is there any recommended game pad/controller for pimax? How do you guys play games? Steam controller or Xbox one controller? Or any others? Also has anyone tried 3drudder?

Any of the controllers should work with steam. Outside of steam may need xinput controller
Like xbox, logitech 710 etc.
For example. Pimax oculus mode. Lucky’s tale. Or other oculus games via pimax. I tried some controllers but didn’t work. Is there any additional setup for it?

That unfortunately not sure. If using revive try steam settings controller. If using oculus home may need to config controller there. Also see if windows recognises it as a game controller. (steam controller can be flakey)
I can use my F310 gamepad for any SteamVR game, and through Revive played Lucky’s Tale etc.
Only on a few occasions I had to use X360ce emulator. Remember, like on a F310 gamepad, you have a switch on the backside for different modes you might need to use to get it recognized.
