Damn you beat me to it I was just gonna post this . 
EDIT just tried it and it works.
FYI those files don’t include the openvr_api.dll so you still need to install the original, and then this over top of it.

wow the difference in performance and clarity with pp off now in re2,crazy what we are missing when its required,anyway anyone got re8 to work?its shows up zoomed it weird.
