2080ti and my cpu is… uh… whatever was a very fast intel cpu in 2016 that isn’t very fast any more. I’m highly cpu bound for performance. I’m patiently waiting for Zen3 in 5 months or so before I make a new build.
When I tried the X at VRDays I found the brightness too low, they told me it was because of the cable.
Now I’m worried, I’ve seen a couple of complains about the low brightness
Because of the cable? The power draw?
If had to guess power draw to drive the panels.
The cable was soldered, I asked sweviver about the low brightness and he told me it was because of the cable, it was much darker than my 5K+
Oh that’s right. But now backers receive new cables… interesting
This makes me worried also,i found the pimax 8kplus also too low i brightness.
And the pimax x uses the same panels…
But, low brightness is better for your eyes…
in the Video, Kevin says, the Backlight control switch comes back
Yes, but the whites of the plane Cessna were grey, it was too much
I hope now it’s different.
But people are complaining about it, so it makes me worried, it was the only thing I didn’t liked, but it was very noticeable compared to the 5K+
I can turn the values to white in my plus. Not bright, but white.
Have you tried each eye separately? What FOV are you using? Try a lower one.
Stating the obvious: It would be helpful if you could test a different headset, to determine if your hardware has a problem. It sounds like it might.
I hope you can resolve this. ED does look great with a wide FOV.
some people must wait for curved Lenses…I think…
It is a physical problem.
That’s actually something I prefer. My eyes are extra sensitive to bright lights, which is why I miss PiTool’s backlight brightness option. Also, it helps make the blacks darker, which is especially nice in Elite D. Still, Pimax needs to re-enable that option, so that everyone has a choice of brightness levels.
I would rather unmarked " hidden area mask"
The reduced brightness will give a better black level experience so we should take that into account when people review games with dark scenes
Thanks, Coverman. That is helpful.
just to confirm is it real through the lens video? It looks more like HMD virtual stream capture )).
If colours & contrast are really like I perceive on my display I will be more interested in getting this HMD.
Congrats! Welcome to The OpenMR Forum. I have added you to Earlybackers group.
Agreed the SMAS speaker knobs are not a quality solution for pimax headsets. Imho probably not even the Artisan.
