It seems the face detect sensor that allows the display to switch on, when I put my Pimax on, does not always work, unless I either push the display closer to my face by using my hand, or unplug the unit’s USB and plug it in again to reset it. When I don’t use my unit, I put a microfiber cloth over the lenses to keep dust out of the unit. Could this cause a problem when the headset powers up?
Does this sensor do more than recognize light\darkness but maybe also distance from the sensor to your face as well?
Could there be something wrong with my Pimax 4k hardware? I’ve had it for about 4 weeks now and it did not do this initially until it started about 4 days ago…
While experimenting\troubleshooting, I put my finger on the sensor after taking the HMD off and it then stopped working properly until pushed the HMD hard against my face. Later I unplugged the unit to get it to work again.
If this is a hardware problem? Also can the following feature please be added to Piplay?
- The ability to disable the face detect sensor in the event that it becomes faulty, allowing us to still use the HMD by forcing the display to remain switched on?
Anyone else experience something like this?
Thank you in advance…
