Thanks for replying! No worries – once I knew the problem, the fix was simple (delete the runaway .log).
As for the random crashes to desktop from VR: This was caused by high temperatures in my room in summer, which caused my 8KX to overheat and shut down intermittently. Not caused by eye tracking. (The extra heat load of the Droolon device may contribute to the problem – but that is mitigated by your software fix, thankfully!)
